While costly, this product adds a depth of flavor and increased body to any soup you make. To me, it’s absence in dishes that usually includes it diminishes the flavor, taste and texture.

The powder really makes my soup. There I no need to add salt. With this my soup was so fragrant I could smell it across the room. But the package is flimsy.

I purchased this and immediately transferred it to a seal tight jar. The grind is very fine. You can definitely smell the fish flavor and it did add more umami and make my wonton flavor more authentic. I wouldn't want it to be an overpowering flavor, as it would overpower the delicacy of the wonton flavor and the shrimp flavor. It is convenient to have in my pantry and I could not find this in any of the asian grocery stores around. I would have to make a trip to a specialty dried seafood/goods store in Chinatown. If you really want a deeper flavor, you can always purchase the dried flounder whole (I believe seller also sells the fish), deep fry it or flame it, and then grind it up on your own. I think though it would have a much lower shelf life.

DO NOT buy this so call " Flounder Fish Power", at first bought one and it smell like it said " flounder Fish",so bought some for my other friend (this is before I try it out). then found out it is not fully Flounder Fish Power, very mild. it does not taste like Flounder,must be mix up some other.I would not buy this again.and it is not returnable,bad deal

The product is actually from New York China town. It has no label on the package. You won;t know what you are getting. Most important of all, it has no fragrance at all. I won't buy it again and won't recommend to anyone.
