My 1/2 acre pond has been perpetually covered in duckweed since we purchased the property. After reading a lot of material, this was the first product I bought to try and clear it up. I applied it in the late spring after the pond was already covered with duckweed by mixing it in a sprayer, and wading out in rubber boots a few feet from the shore. I sprayed just under the surface, trying to walk and cover the largest area I could. After a month, I was preparing to come back here and say the product didn't work at all. The duckweed appeared to change color, but was still present on the water. After a very dry year, we finally got a rainfall and that churn of the water made all the dead duckweed sink, and we had a perfectly clear pond the rest of the year and through the fall and winter! I mention this, because some reviewers seem to think that you can spray this in the water, and all organic material will magically disappear in a week. That's not the case. You need to apply early, or be prepared to wait for results. This year I'm going to apply it earlier in the spring as a preventive measure. Yes, the price is eye-watering, but I've decided if it costs $200 a year to have a clear pond, it's worth it to me. 2 YEAR UPDATE: I applied this to an already-clear pond in the spring (late March) and the pond stayed clear the entire season into the winter. The price on this product is gradually increasing each year, so while it is very effective, I'm going to start looking for competitors that use the same active ingredient (Fluridone).

We applied 8 oz to our pond which was covered with lily pads and coontail. It took a little while but the lily pads died out and the coontail disapeared. I've used aquatic glysophate and diquat but this product worked better than anything I've ever used Purchased 16 oz of the product this year and treating a fairly large area with it. Will see how it works. Great results last year !!!

It’s been a month and my pond looks worse than it did before. No duck weed died. It’s a small detention pond.

I honestly am a bit taken aback. I have a 1/4 acre lined pond with a sand bottom. (In hindsight I never would have covered the liner with sand but thought it would do better in protecting it from the deer traffic.) Anyway most recently the Pond Weed and other submerged weeds were taking over closing in the edges to only leave about a 30'x30' circle of open water around the fountain in the center. I have been resisting buying any pond herbicide since they are EXPENSIVE and it was hard for me to imagine they would not be diluted in such a large body of water to do any good. I was wrong... I put the 8-oz batch in about 6 weeks ago simply by mixing it with water and dispersing in 4-5 areas around the outside of the pond (from shore). It did take a few weeks but WOW.... the pond weed has been eradicated as have many of the submerged weeds. Anything actually that get's it's primary water source from the pond water has pretty much died including the longer grasses around the shore (that frankly were an irritation in themselves and something I despise weed-whacking). At any rate I will continue to monitor and i it goes as it's going now I will be putting this in my big pond every spring provided the cost of doing so doesn't go any higher. I also ordered an additional 4-oz kit after having my smaller (15'x12') pond be overtaken by what I believe is Sago Pondweed. As I cleaned all of that out by hand on Saturday I was whistling like Bill Murray in Caddyshack as he made small squirrels out of plastic explosives; knowing full-well my new batch of Wipeout would be showing up today! I recommend it.

It works, but it takes a very, very, very, very long time. If you think you're going to spray this stuff in the pond, and within a week, see results, you are going to be very displeased. You are looking at at least four weeks to start seeing results and more like two months to really notice any difference. However, it does work. I had a pretty bad infestation of lily pads and sprayed this stuff on the pond (I have a two acre pond that is very deep on the deep end... Probably thirty feet deep... But roughly 1 of the acres is on the shallow end and around the perimeter, it's no more than four feet deep.... so it was lily pad heaven). This stuff is crazy expensive. I am sure that there's about a 500% markup on this stuff. Apparently, there's just no real market for lily removing a herbicides, so to have you over a barrel.

Our pond is about a third acre and the Lilly pads took it over. We had a professional treat the pond with an oxygen destroyer and yes it did great damage to the pads but it also wiped out a lot of the fish. I decide to try this and two weeks after dosing the pond most of the Lilly pads are gone and the rest are dying off without any fish lost. I see babies all over the edge of the pond. 😀 I had to treat it again after we had several storms which raised the water level. I picked up a half of the amount I originally put in and I see it is working. Our issue is the weeds started coming up in the middle of the pond after the level increase and they went along either the entire shore line. I think it works well but I have the dosage wrong.

Was it worth the money. No. Did it pick up some debris, weeds yes.. and wind washed to shore. I would probably have to do more then 5 times to see a real difference.

This product did wonders for our pond. We have a small quarter acre pond, and after 1 use, the clarity is amazing! Highly recommend this product to rid pond of weeds that often take over.
