Evans Genera Dry Drum Head, 14 Inch

This is a great snare drum head for controlling overtones. Gives you a focused, short sustain with good attack and warmth. It's perfect for live or studio applications. Durability has never been an issue for me, but that might partially be because I tune my snare medium-high. I recently made the switch from the Remo coated ambassador (the most popular drum head in the world for good reason) but I like how much control I have over the sound without using moon gel or other external dampeners with this head. This head would also sound great on toms, especially for the average person that doesn't have the knowledge or time to dial in their sound strictly with tuning.

I recently bought a Brady Jarrah ply snare drum and was very disappointed initially. There were some nasty overtones that wouldn't go away, and no matter what I did or what heads I tried, I couldn't get it to sound right. So I started doing some digging on the internet and several people recommended this particular head for a Brady snare drum. Simply put, I can see why. My Brady sounds unbelievably good now (I can't even tell you how nice it is), and there are no harsh overtones anymore. It's just a beautiful, beautiful snare drum with perfect, fat, focused tone. So if you have a Brady and are unhappy with it, PLEASE try this head before you consider getting rid of it! It has really made all the difference. This head would probably have the same effect on lots of other snares out there too. Anyway, just wanted to share that in case I can help somebody else! Shipping was super fast too.

Great drum head would recommend

I'vee been using the 14" Genera Dry heads on my snare drums but was having a rough time with my 12" rack tom. I made the move and I'm glad I did. This cuts the ring down significantly and for recording it's a dream come true.

This head was a huge improvement over the thin, 1-ply, Chinese-made, Remo "brand" head that came on my Yamaha Stage Custom snare. Prior to the head swap, the snare had an awful, long, metallic-sounding ring and overtones that I simply could not stand. After putting this head on, the ringing and overtones were completely eliminated, hence the "dry" in the name. At a medium tuning, my snare now has a nice, loud "crack" without all the ringing and overtones. That being said there are is no longer ANY ringing or overtones. The sound is a bit TOO "dry" for my liking. If you want a really dry, tight "crack" from your snare, give this a try. Just be warned that this will just about eliminate all ring and overtones. If you like a little bit of openness in your snare sound, this may not be for you. As always, trust your ear and YMMV.

i've been playing for 15 years, and it took me 10 years to find the perfect head. Ever since then, i've only been buying these bad boys. Get it. crank it up pretty tight, and the vents allow the snare to breathe. You won't find a better head than this one. Oh. and they hold up for a very long time (years). I have never broken one and i play pretty heavy. (Ps there is a difference in the genera and the genera HD... just be aware of what you're buying, because they sound and feel totally different)

Trovo che questa pelle sia molto valida,ottima la risposta ed il rimbalzo delle bacchette,se accordata/tirata bene è molto sensibile anche vicino al bordo e produce un ottimo suono.Devo ancora stabilire la durata ma credo che sarà nella media al pari di altre blasonate,buonissimo il prezzo.

Bonjour.Cette peaux de cc est clairement conçu pour être accordée assez relâché pour un son bien gras et profond et assez spécifique pour une caisse clair en bois multipli. Elle n'es pas conçu pour un accordage tendu car vous allez perdre le bénéfice de l'effet sourdine interne et évent de décompression tout petit orifices (dry) sur tout le pourtour de la peau de façon à minimiser la résonance lors de la frappe en rimshot. En revanche la peau de résonance doit être relativement tendu! Et le timbre assez "relâché" Ps : Conçu pour un jeu jazzy pop acoustique léger et subtil avec baguette en érable et balais sans modération ...

no tienes que perder mucho tiempo pegandote con los armonicos,si te gusta que suene seco, este es tu parche!!!
