We bought the Amazon Basics Wood Wobble Balance Trainer Board initially for post-surgery balance recovery, and it’s been outstanding. It feels solid and well-crafted, giving just the right challenge to build stability, coordination, and ankle strength without risk.Now it’s also become the favorite “torture device” in our dojo—great for core training, knee control, and proprioception drills. It’s challenging enough to feel the burn, but still safe for all skill levels.Pros:Durable all-wood construction—no wobble in quality.Effective for gentle recovery or intense training.Compact and easy to store or carry to sessions.Cons:No resistance band attachments; won’t work upper body without extra tools.Beginners may need time to engage core and avoid tipping too fast.🟢 Final verdict: If you’re rehabbing or want a simple but effective balance trainer for martial arts or stability workouts, this board is solid, affordable, and gets the job done.

I recently had an ACL reconstruction (hamstring tendon graft). After about 9 months of rehabbing when I reached full resistance, I realized that loss of the hamstring tendon was making me overcompensate with my calf/upper Achilles on the affected leg. As a result, my calf area was sore and painful all day and night. I looked at a good range of stability equipment out there and "felt" (more than anything else) that this was the design I wanted. Turns out my feeling was right on the money. This board is perfect for rebuilding stabilizing muscles in the lower leg (ankle, Achilles, calf), something you can't build simply from calf and toe raises. It made an immediate impact to my upper Achilles soreness. However, curing that pain completely required far more than just the board.The board is now an integral part of my daily routine. I also just balance on it during the day during phone calls and breaks. I liked it so much that I ordered another one for my office.The board is very sturdy and well-made. After daily use, at home and at work, I haven't seen any issues with it. It works best on a carpet or area rug. I wouldn't recommend using it on a hardwood or tiled floor since the bottom is made of hard plastic. The top surface has a sandpaper-y finish, which gives excellent traction to the feet. I find is suitable with both sneakers as well as with bare feet. Wearing sneakers already provides support to the feet, so it makes the balancing routines slightly easier. For full benefit, I would recommend balancing with bare feet.If I had to knit pick, I would said that I would have preferred a slightly larger diameter than the 15.5" currently offered, as this board seems on the smaller side to place both my feet. Since I only wear a size 8.5 - 9, the board is fine when I am in bare feet but tends to be a little small with sneakers on. Men with larger shoe sizes will likely find it more annoying.

This balance board is an excellent value for the price. I purchased one for each of my kids, and we use them daily for exercise, balance challenges, and obstacle courses. They’re very well made—heavy, sturdy, and built to last.The grip paper on top provides strong traction, which is great for safety but can be a bit rough on bare skin or socks, so sneakers are a good idea for certain activities. First, I really like this product! If you need it for PT, buy this immediately! I took off a star for quality control.Pros: This balance board is great! The sand paper like colored sections on top makes it great to use barefoot, which is what I have to do for PT. The board has been rock solid and has held up well to lots of rocking and rolling for almost a month of daily use. The size is perfect for my tall person sized feet. The edges of the plywood are nicely sanded and smoother than I expected from such a reasonably priced item.Cons: On the bottom of the wobble board, there is a black large piece that has angled supports. One of the supports was broken off PRIOR to packaging. I checked the inside of the bag and box and it was nowhere to be found. It has not appeared to change the way the board balances or works, but may with extended use. For now I’m satisfied with how the board works, but I am interested to see how it will wear with continued use.Overall, this is a terrific product! I’m so glad Amazon came out with this perfectly priced alternative to the $80 board at my PT office. I actually prefer this board to the more expensive version I use as PT, as that one does not have the handy gripping stuff on the top.I have recommended this product to others at PT and will continue to. I hope Amazon will work on quality control, as they usually do when people take time to write a review.

Really fun to use!!Just make sure you have something or someone sturdy to hold onto at first, until you get the hold of it.There is a minute where you have to learn to balance on it, unless you are just that good.. lol.. but if you're like me, you'll need something to hold onto until you got it!!Maybe even after to make sure, bc you never know..It is really good to work on balance, legs, & core strength..If you're more used to it & more advanced you can add weights or different moves.I wouldn't suggest doing what I did & putting it on your driveway bc I totally screwed up a part of the bottom of it from the cement, & scratched the cement a tad bit bc I couldn't wait to put it on a proper surface.. lol.. but it still works like a charm!!Love it, would recommend it for anyone that's starting out or anyone that's experienced in exercise..It's not a huge piece of professional equipment but it's perfect for the price!!

I must admit, with work out gear/equipment, I have always been more of a brand guy. I had always had my preferred brands for equipment. I am happy to say that I have tried several items from Amazon Basics in the recent couple of years and have been beyond impressed so far. This wobble balancer also did not disappoint. They are making high quality items at a much more reasonable price. This balancer it very sturdy and well built, no assembly required- straight to use out of the box and perfect for your home use or any setting.

I truly appreciate this product as it aids in my physical therapy for my ankle and the surrounding soft tissues. I need to practice extensively to regain my stability, strength, and balance. The unstable feature of this board surprisingly enhances ankle strength, which can help prevent falls, especially in older adults, and support young athletes in their recovery from injuries. Using this board for 15 to 20 minutes has made me feel stronger and more connected to my body. I believe it can also help people various conditions feel more confident in their recovery and daily activities.

Purchased this for home "physical therapy" exercises after an achilles tendon reconstruction surgery. Used this for seated range of motion exercises for my ankle. It's worked great for my purpose. Well made, sturdy and came fully assembled. I'm not far enough out from surgery to be able to use it as a balance board but I suspect it will meet expectations and do a good job.
