Oribe Curl Gloss Hydration & Hold - Adds Shine & Smooths Frizz - 5.9oz

So the long hair pic is before this product. The shorter hair is with this product. I swear this is more than a layered shorter cut. This product (please also get the oribe curl gel!!) saves lives!! Not only do the curls look so much better, but this is the only product (in combination with the gel of same brand) that I have ever been able to sleep on my hair and have it still look absolutely amazing when I wake up. Here’s my new routine: 1. davines LOVE curl cream and conditioner b. Every other wash, I will use some kind of biotin/collagen mask 2. Any kind of leave conditioner that you like, I found that it doesn’t really matter, just whenever you get out of the shower take it and disperse well — put a headband in your hair here at this step for later volume 3. Oribe curl cream — also disperse well, high key. I literally just brushed it through. 4. Oribe curl gel — repeat #3 dispersion 5. You can let this air dry and it will look good and the curls will stay. Whenever my hair is drying, I tend to put it in a headband because this helps with the volume on the top of my head. whenever you take the headband out once it’s dry you just kind of floof around the hair on the top and it looks good. !!!! however. if you diffuse your hair, it will look 1 million times better. Diffuse the hair with some kind of headband and still for the top volume. Flip between right side up and upside down!! 6. You may be sitting here with hair completely dry now saying “oh my gosh, my hair feels crunchy!” — take any kind of oil and rub it in your hands and uncrunch, basically scrunch until you don’t feel crunchy anymore. If I am doing something important or it is a special occasion, I will use the OlaPlex number two which is pretty expensive, otherwise I will just use any kind of hair oil. I swear, I will just put my hair into a silk scrunchie as high up on my head as it will go to sleep, and I will take it out and the curls (if given a little bit of time to settle) will look amazing for at least five days. Otherwise, with any other kinds of products, my hair would be weird and straight and wavy in other places after the one time of sleeping. Doesn’t matter what silk thing I have. THE ORIBE PRODUCTS ARE THE GAME CHANGER!! WORTH EVERY PENNY PS. This also smells amazing.. with a combination of this and the oribe gel, the other products I mentioned, and occasionally some hairspray you’ll be absolutely set.

I've been using Oribe Gelee but the Gloss is much lighter and holds my curls great! Happy with the switch!

I’m on the fence about this product. On one hand it’s light and therefore perfect for day two curls. If my hair is really wonky on day two I’ll mist it very lightly with water, wet my hands and then scrunch in a little bit of the curl gloss. Then diffuse for a couple of minutes and VIOLA I have beautiful shiny curls. But this product doesn’t have enough hold to use on wash day and neither does the Oribe Gelee. So I use a much higher holding g or mousse in my wash day routine. Right now it’s the Bounce Curl Cream-Gel combined with the Ouidad High Humidity Gel. This gives me significant crunch but it’s easily scrunched out with a little serum or oil. I’ve found the Oribe Curl Gloss to be disappointing as a wash day product. By day two my curls will have completely deflated and a ton of frizz develops if I use this in my first day routine. But as a curl refresher it’s wonderful. If you have coarse hair like mine you may find the Curl Gloss doesn’t have enough hold or humidity resistance when used on wash day. But to refresh on day two or three it’s perfect. Better than any other product I’ve tried on subsequent days after washing. And I love the shine it gives my curls. Here’s my routine 1. Wash and condition with Dr Folligen Silk shampoo and conditioner (the latter will feel hot so don’t freak out) 2. Pureology 21 leave in conditioner on damp hair (not dripping wet in other words) or Innersense Prep Spray. 3. Bounce Curl Cream Gel on wet hair dispersed evenly with a detangling brush Then brush style. 4. Ouidad High Humidity Gel (I live in Florida so this one is essential) scrunched in well 5. Diffuse first by hovering until the gel cast is set and then I’m a little more aggressive with diffusing until all my hair is dry **At night a bonnet or scarf wrap is crucial. I don’t scrunch out the crunch if I wash at night. I just use a bonnet and leave scrunching til the next morning. I scrunch using an oil like Oribe Gold Lust or Japanese Tbusaki (camellia) Oil. I also love the Mise En Scene serum to scrunch out crunch. If curls went rogue overnight, that’s when I will mist with water and use the Oribe Curl Gloss. This kills any fizziness and also helps restore the curl pattern. To scrunch out the crunch (there will be crunch btw) I will usually use Oribe Gold Lust oil. The oil pairs really well with any Oribe product. Oh and I often use a tinted conditioner before my “regular” conditioner (Dr Folligen Silk Treatment ) because in my color treated hair I don’t want any yellowish tones. It’s a lot of work to take care of and style curly hair, especially type 3a/b curls. When I stopped blow drying and decided to wear my hair curly, it took me a long time and LOTS of money to figure out a great routine. I watch what seemed like every YouTube video on curly hair (Manes by Mel is awesome). I used to use Oribe products when I wore my hair straight. They worked perfectly. That’s how I ended up trying more Oribe products for curly hair.

Yes this is pricey. Sure Sports Clips and other barber shops sell “curl cream”. This stuff is incredible. Got it from my wife’s salon and I can’t believe I pay this much for a product, but it works. A little dab will do yah.

Does not work as expected. Good curls at first, but not holding . Very temporary effect. Also I do not like smell.

Photo shows my 2nd day hair: Photo is my hair on the 2nd day Oribe makes the absolute best hair care I’ve ever used. I use: primer, silkening curl creme, gloss (watery gel) I apply them in that order, to soaking wear hair, and then I gently diffuse. My hair looks curly, shiny, and healthy. No crunch! This reminds me of an aqua gelee mixed with hair oil but no matter how much I use my hair doesn’t look greasy. My curls are soft and defined.

I love this product so much! I have it on auto refill now. My curls look amazing and there is no crunch in my hair. It smell great too. If you have curly/frizzy hair this product is a dream. Also, works great for day 2 hair or a quick water reset. No need to reapply just wet and watch your curls reform.

This gel really delivers on shine and definition for curly haired girls. I have now added it to my wash day routine after curl cream and my curls pop! My curls now last the whole work week without getting into a frizz ball which happens when I use only curl cream. Will be a repeat buyer!
