This was a PERFECT gift for a 4th grade boy who has gotten into crocheting, but likes the more gender-neutral/boy themes. It was reasonably priced, and came really well pagkaged- making it look even nicer then the pricing! A big win for anyone that is into crochet, and better yet Harry Potter!

I bought this Harry Potter crochet kit as a Christmas gift and it was a hit. The kit is very complete and the quality of the materials is great. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, even for beginners. It’s a fun and creative gift, especially for Harry Potter fans.

It's good that I can crochet my favorite characters

This MIGHT'VE been a great kit if there was enough yarn to make Harry. As my photo shows, there's not enough dark grey to complete his trousers! I got 3 black safety eyes and one green (and I couldn't get the backs on them to save my life!), and some of the instructions are unclear. There are photos in the book for some things, but not for the difficult to understand parts. It says "Work a '3dc bob' in each of next 4 stitches..." but it doesn't give any instructions in the front of the book on what that means or how to do it. The yarn is in different weights, ranging in a slender, fingering weight, to a worsted weight, and the light and medium grey colors are almost identical, but none of them are labeled. On the other hand, the hook seems to be of good quality, it isn't 'sticky' and doesn't drag. The needle and embroidery thread are good. It says you should have a stitch marker, but there isn't one provided. All in all, I'd give it 3 stars out of 5 and say it's 100% NOT for beginners! You should be at least intermediate or advanced intermediate! And make sure you know how to make your own eyes. lol

The yarn quality I received is of very poor quality making it almost difficult and impossible to work with. Keeping the bad quality in mind this product is expensive.
