At first I was very disappointed because it is crushed feed, not whole kernels like the non-GMO version I had before. The wind would literally blow half of it away (I also used it as treats). Then I read about fermenting it and thought it would be a lot of work, but it really isn't. And I think it's a lot better for the animals, easier to digest if it's been soaked at least overnight. Using a different feed for treats now. And have to be careful that it doesn't mold as it's warming up now, so I stir it twice a day when I get Rocket's food ready. Good stuff -- there's only processed organic feed at TSC and I prefer the grains with some veggies and fruit.

This is a really great food for mini pigs . I've been feeding this food specifically to my mini pig for the past 2 years and it is great food . I'm currently feeding it to piglets that were just bread a month or so ago . If you're looking for a good food for smallmouth pigs this is excellent .

I have been looking around for a food for a few weeks for my 2 year old, as we found grain mites in her last food. This was delivered today covered with grain mites on the inside of the box.

My pigs love stealing the whole grain layer feed that I give my chickens (from New Country Organics) so I knew they’d love this. And I was right! I mix it 50/50 with their usual pellets to save a little $ and to keep them acclimated to the pellets in case I run out. So happy this is available; sharps is waaay out of my pig feed budget!

My pigs health has GREATLY improved from the cheap junk I was feeding him for years. Wish I found it sooner. Been ordering every month for a year and have had AMAZING results. Worth the price!!!

Our 3 mini pigs are fully grown and with this feed they appear happier and more satisfied than any of the feeds we've tried before.

It’s a very powdery, dusty food. I definitely expected it to have more substance. I’m not sure if it’s specifically related, but my girl has developed serious urinary issues since starting this food. Won’t be purchasing again solely for that reason. Switching back to her old food in hopes of resolution.

Although my piggies (2 Juliana/mini pig cross breeds) think this feed is delicious, their hunger is never satiated after eating. I called the co because there aren’t clear feeding instructions on the bag & feed info online is different than that on bag. After speaking with an employee over the phone it seemed as though they didn’t know their own product which made me nervous. Based on the employee’s serving suggestions for my 5 month old pigs I would go through an 18 lb bag in less than a month. And after just under a month of being on this feed I noticed that my piggies had packed on quite a few extra lbs & to any mini pig owner weight management is always a huge concern. They recommended fermenting the product which will activate live cultures of probiotics that are excellent for my little ones. However, the end result seems to be the same in terms of them whining constantly for more feed. Sadly the whining was not because it was so yummy they just needed more, they just weren’t satisfied from a hunger standpoint. I am periodically trying different mini pig feeds to see what suits them best. I watch their overall behavior and pay close attention to their mood as it is always a great indicator as to whether or not their happy with their feed. Of course there are always other factors that could affect my mini pics behavior but I address those as needed. And I always use a feed for at least a month before making a decision to change their feed. So far Modesto Mills is winning hands down. Sharp’s mini pig feed is by far the best option in terms of how well they took to it, their behavior & mood while on it. However it is one of the most expensive feeds on the market for the amount you actually get. If I could afford it, my piggies would stay on Sharp’s indefinitely, but it’s just not cost effective for us. Scratch & Peck only gets 3 stars based on lack of info on package, their lack of knowledge in conveying basic yet important information over the phone & my mini pigs reactions to the feed.
