Must have tool for auto body
Steck makes fantastic products all around, and the seam busters are a must have tool for anyone into autobody or hot rods/ rebuilding old cars. Extremely durable and a perfect grind for strength and sharpness. Drill your spot welds out as good as you can, use this to split the seams open and hammer through the remaining little bit of weld your drill missed.

Durable
This is a must have (yet rarely used, like an air chisel) tool. So far, I easily removed about two dozen spot welds from my 1954 3100. No dulling or nicks yet. Just be careful and watch what the spot weld is doing to your metal after every strike. After 1-2 strikes, reposition around the weld. This approach yielded no sheet metal tears. For stubborn spot welds, slide the seam buster in a seam a little bit., apply light pressure and drill a 1/4” hole. As soon as the weld “pops”, stop drilling to prevent drilling into the second body panel.

EXTREMELY WELL MADE OF EXCELLENT HARDENED STEEL
I like the fact that the tool is extremely well made and tough enough to separate spot welded steel seams; doing bodywork on vehicles. When I received this tool I was amazed at how indistructible this tool is. I would highly recommend this tool to anyone who needs to perform seam splitting on vehicles, or any where else that you find them.

Not Made in the USA
I haven’t used this yet however the advertising makes it look like it was made in the USA yet it’s made in Taiwan. If Lisle can make their products here so can Steck. It’s far beyond time for them to act like Americans and support the country that supported their company. I’ll buy Lisle until they do.

Sturdy angle chisel.
I used this for removing quarter round on my garage door panels. It worked beautifully. Hammering at right angles, it quickly removed the wood.
