what's the shelf life?

It is a powder, it is not possible for it to be spoiled. However Amazon price is way too high, 1.8kg goes for $11 canadian dollars in any Indian corner shop.

How do you open this? I have spent about 30 minutes trying to get this thing open. Nothing works.

There are plastic tabs on the bottom of the lid that are thick and tough to loosen. I just kept turning the top, left to right and then right to left and eventually that will wear out the tabs and you can unscrew the top. Underneath the red top is another white lid and you can just pry that open. Hope this helps and good luck!

The advertising is contradictory. It says 3 lbs. and underneath 10 oz’s. Which is it?

I received a 3 Ib [1.36kg, Net Weight 48 Oz] Madras Curry Powder packed in a large canister as shown in their Ad but I think the seller made a mistake by putting a 10 oz pkt in the description. However, The product is great and was worth paying for. Thanks.

I don’t think you’ll like my answer but it’s a blend of different spices and you are right because everyone uses different blends. Try reading the ingredients on different blends of curry.
