Nature's Way Valerian Nighttime, Valerian Root Sleep Support*, 100 Tablets

I bought this to take with Nature's Way Hops Flower because the OLD "Silent Night Blend" USED to have this ingredient mixed in with it already. I wish Nature's Way would have kept their old blend going because it was highly effective for sleeping well! Now I have to buy 2 separate products just to get the SAME EFFECTS as the old stuff sadly. Anyways, this is an effective product for sleeping as well thankfully. Enjoy!

Almost finished my bottle of these, and I have to say I love this formulation! I’ve been using Valerian for years, but the addition of lemon balm (an ingredient also found in stress gummies) really helps with those Sunday Scaries (or evening anxieties, etc.) My only complaint is the pills themselves are deep orange coated, and can temporarily stain your teeth (if you don’t rinse your mouth out right after) and may color your urine the next morning I believe? Unsure. But I take mine an hour before bed and then I brush my teeth right after, problem solved. My recommendation to the manufacturer is to skip that orange coating next time! Just do clear gelatin capsules. Otherwise, they’re perfect and do exactly what they say they do.

The only bad thing IMO in regards to Valerian, is that it smells like booty...literally. This form does not have the same intensity of foul pungency as the herb capsules, but it is still present. I have just finished my 2nd bottle and had come to reorder, but had seen that the price had increased over 40% compared to when I had purchased the product in March...I have been taking Melissa and Valerian off and on for 3yrs and they have worked wonders for my sleep. It was convenient to have them within the same tablet but will have to go back to taking them separately.

I was so excited to see this "odor free" version of Valerian as I tried taking the capsule type and would brace myself and still gag the second I'd open the bottle. I'd even try standing as far away as possible and using chop sticks to pick it up as I didn't want to get too close or risk having the smell on my fingers. It's also very hard to swallow while holding your breath. OK, you get the point....Valarian stinks so bad!! The thing is Valarian works really well for helping me sleep through the night and wake up feeling refreshed, rather than groggy like other sleep aids or even chamomile. I've tried this product for two nights now and it works just as well (sleeping well) but I can still smell the Valerian. It's probably about 20% of the smell of the capsules, but after you've smelled the full strength stuff, even a little whiff will send you into aversion mode. I hope that I'll be able to either get used to it or they make a truly odor free version soon.

Helps me sleep

Sometimes these work for me and sometimes they do not. It is similar to melatonin for me as far as making me feel a bit more relaxed and groggy. If my mind is in overdrive, it isn't always enough to help me fall asleep. I do know that I feel a bit more muddled in the morning after taking these. I can't wait to get my coffee. I am not a morning person though, so I look forward to that every day. These pills do smell strongly, but not intolerable. I take other supplements that are worse. It may put some people off, however. My friends have tried these without luck so I wasn't expecting much. My doctor recommended them, however, so I gave them a try. I think they are worth having around to take now and then since it isn't great to take melatonin regularly.

I started out taking one to see the strength, but did need 2 per dose. They work slowly, unnoticeable & i'm glad i have something to fall back on when i only sleep 2 hours at a time, awaking at the 2am & 4am. Easy to swallow, not bad taste, good strength, good value.
