Cute, stylish, comfortable to use, just the right size. The additional features are all extremely useful - the corner elastic strap to hold papers/book down, fabric handle for carrying, the bar in front so your computer doesn't slide off, and the slot for a smartphone that is very well thought out (it is angled so that the phone leans back slightly but doesn't tip over or fall out. This costs a little bit more than an average lap desk, but all the extra features are worth it. Color looks just like in the listing photos.

During early Covid, I was working from home for 2 months. I had set up a goofy office at home using my recliner, a table, a cordless keyboard/mouse and my computer with monitors from the office. I needed a good way to type on my lap. I had another lap desk with a more firm pad underneath, and it was just too wide for my recliner. I thought it was "good" - and then I got THIS! For starters, the pad underneath is like a beanbag. Its lightweight and the stuffing moves according to how you want it situated on your lap. You can do countless angles and rearrangements with this. It's WONDERFUL. The patterns they have are attractive, and this is a really well-made product. When working from home using the wireless keyboard, I could use the phone slot for my phone. Now, I have a laptop on the lapdesk, and the phone slot isn't as useful. I now use this lap desk for eating while sitting in my chair in front of the TV, making lists/writing, using my laptop. I purchased one for each of my parents. They are 76 and 79 years old. Mom plays and writes emails on her ipad with stand using this, writes bills, etc. She loves it. Shortly thereafter (fathers' day) I got one for my dad. He uses it to play on his ipad and also eat in his chair. They love these so much that I had to buy them each another so they had one to keep in Michigan and one in Florida. I can't say enough GREAT things about this lap desk. This particular pattern (the black argyle) is really attractive for men - and about the only pattern available that is really man-ish. If you're looking for an amazing gift for your parent, spouse, kids... this is it. They may not think anything of it when they open it - but after they use it, they'll be singing your praises! It's a wonderful product!! Don't cheap out and buy something that's less expensive... I promise you, this is worth every penny!

Very sturdy. It fits my lap perfectly.. The left corner holds the pages of my book down so my fan doesn't blow it closed. It's very efficient and I love the clean, polished wood look. Amazing.

This review is for a LapGear Lap Desk (Small Model w/slot for larger tablet) Summary: The smaller LapGear lap desk is compact and lightweight with a beanbag-style base fill and smooth top surface. It features a lip to hold papers or a tablet but lacks a cup holder and has limited space for larger items. NOTE: I was unable to review it for odor, but another model from LapGear did have a mild fragrance odor that could probably be off-gassed outside for a couple days successfully. Pros: + Lightweight and easy to carry + Elastic to hold papers + Smooth surface ideal for drawing or writing without texture interference. + Handle for portability Cons & Suggestions: - Too small to function comfortably in a wheelchair setup. - Cushion does not contour well to the lap; possibly overfilled — but may be because of plastic. - Extremely smooth top makes items slide easily; a grippier surface would prevent items from sliding off - No zipper access to adjust the fill amount. - No cup holder for standard mugs Overall Impression: A sleek, portable lap desk suited for tablets or light use, but less stable and less spacious than the larger version. Ideal for light writing or tablet tasks but not optimal for adult wheelchair users needing stability and space. MIGHT be useful to a child who does not transport their own food and needs support holding an AAC device.

I never knew I needed this until I chanced upon it on the NYT wireacutter website. For a few days, I thought about making one myself. (It's just a pillow with a piece of wood, how hard could it be to replicate?) But I ended up ordering it, and it has made writing on my laptop so much easier and more enjoyable. The important feature is that the pillow is filled with some sort of bean bag-like substance, allowing it to be molded to your lap, and allowing you to tip the desk to its proper angle. A foam-filled pillow would not work as well. The ledge to hold your laptop in place is also key. I've not used the pocket on top, or the elastic strap, but maybe if I was hand-writing cards I'd find more use for these features. Funny thing: I was ushering at a play a few days after I bought this, and a woman came in with the very same lap desk, and she put it on her lap and started typing before the play began. This was either a critic setting up to take notes for a review, or somebody who cannot stand to waste even 5 minutes of her day. Anyway, that certainly speaks to its portability.

Years ago I had a similar product but this one beats that one by a mile. The padding great valueis very comfortable in your lap and the top is great with a closed slot for an iPhone. Also, it is well constructed. More than pleased. Light to carry.

Bought this originally as a small writing support when laying down, but it serves many other functions. The iPhone holder is very handy. The color and fabric is vivid and appealing really nice product well-made highly recommend.

Love this lap desk. I use it for my laptop. Good quality and lightweight. Pretty design too.

I've got two of these now. The microbeads in the cushion allow for a comfortable and level fit on your legs no matter how you're sitting. The phone holder is convenient for a phone or for an external SSD. The only downside is that it's not very wide, so there's very little room for a mouse (which I don't use, so no issue for me).

It would’ve been so pretty but it came damaged because it’s not sturdy. For the price I expected better quality.

This is amazing!! Bought it for my wife to use on the sofa or in bed or her recliner and it worked super well in all the required locations. It makes her life so much easier not trying to hold on to books and things. the lip on the edge that keeps things from sliding off is great and the holder for her phone is great as well. Can't say enough good things about this product
