Standard Medium (FCSS1) is a well made product which I've really been enjoying as one of my favorite slides since I received it a few weeks ago
This Fender Steel Slide, Standard Medium (FCSS1) is a well made product which I've really been enjoying as one of my favorite slides since I received it a few weeks ago; when playing bottleneck slide on several different acoustic and electric guitars the slide length perfectly covers the full width of all the guitar strings; inside diameter seems to be about medium (compared to the Johnny Winter Texas Slider, which has a very small inside diameter). Great treble tones (just to compare a bit: the thicker Dunlop brass slides get more tonal range including more prominent mids and low end than this Fender steel slide; and while thinner ceramic and glass slides have a similar treble prominent tone profile, this steel slide is more edgy and brittle sounding than either glass or ceramic slides which sound more smooth and flowing). To sum it up, I really like the zing and steely high end tones I get from this slide, and am comfortable recommending it for anyone who is looking for some trebly bottleneck slide fun, and has medium or smaller size fingers (it works well on my pinky, and my hands are usually medium or large in glove size).

Great material and sound, sizing could be clearer
The material and sound quality are excellent. It feels consistent and durable, and it’s affordable too. The only thing is that sizing can be tricky—some reviews mentioned it only fitting on the pinky, but in my case it works perfectly on my ring finger. It really depends on your hand size and use, but overall it’s 100% recommended.

Perfect condition, works as intended
Very cheap price, works very well, very light weight and easy to use. Be careful not to get it stuck on your finger, the size is just big enough to sit halfway on my middle finger, I had gotten it stuck in the slide before.

Great Resonator Sound
Perfect length, diameter, and weight for sliding on my resonator guitar in Open D tuning with medium gauge phosphor bronze strings and action that is only slightly high. This slide lets the hi notes sing out and the medium weight and length of it are enough to sound out the bottom low string. I've had trouble with shorter lighter slides because they don't have the mass to make the low string loud enough. This Fender slide is the kind of slide I've searched for since..well, a long time. It fits nicely on my ring finger but I prefer it on my pinky. To make it fit snug I put a few strips of sticky back felt inside. I love that feel and I love the sound I'm getting now.

It's a very fast, smooth slide -- excellent for fast runs
I have used several slides over the past few years as a slide player -- a Dunlop 271 glass blues bottle, a Dunlop brass 222 and a Dunlop steel 220 as well as this Fender FCSS1steel slide; not necessarily in that order. I will switch depending on the tone I'm looking for at that moment, and speed I want. And some slides are faster than others -- something needed if you're concentrating on some faster runs. The Fender FCSS1 steel is the fastest metal slide I have in my arsenal. It also has a little bit less, inadvertent 'crackle' noise on my single coil guitars than my Dunlop steel. It's about a millimeter longer -- and it's a very good slide, which is why I ordered two of them. The Fender slide sounds good, too. Chrome steel slides generally will give you more highs to work with than brass or glass, which can be a plus, depending on your guitar and other settings. You can always compensate with your tone control, amp, or stomp box (if you use one). My Fender FCSS1 sounds a hair more 'open' than my Dunlop 220. Like I said, I use the Fender when I want speed and agility (on vibrato too) , as well as the tone you get from steel. The Fender FCSS1 is well worth the investment for any slide player.

Damp sound, too small for fingers, virtually indestructible
It is very small and does not fit on my prefered finger. I... Got it stuck. Twice. And i have very long slender fingers. It does fit on my ring and pinky fingers so I may have use for it yet. The tonal quality of this slide is not the best but it would be okay for someone just learning to use it. It gives off a very damp and unclear sound against both acoustic and electrics. I havent tried it on a Dobro yet but otherwise its okay. It doesnt damage very easily though, so theres another positive. I tried to destroy it, its pretty good solid steel.

Solid slide, excellent price!
Been meaning to learn some slide techniques but keep losing the cheapies I’ve bought over the years. This one also leans on the cheaper side, but I trust the Fender name and decided to give this a chance. It’s exactly what it says on the tin (plastic?): a slide. It’s not very weighty, as one should expect at this price point, but it’s solid. Could likely take being thrown around a gig bag for a good while without showing any notable wear. As for how it sounds? Pretty good, any inconsistencies in sound are definitely user error.

It works exactly as anticipated
Bought this for my 17 y/o son. Here’s his testimonial: “I like it and it works.” That’s about as much as a 17 yr old boy will admit to liking something. I consider that a win.

Ótima qualidade!
Qualidade inegável! O tamanho ficou largo para o meu filho de 16 anos. Mas preferi não devolver, pois acredito dentro de pouco tempo vai servir.
