Nalgene can't be beat!
I have tried so many water bottles, but none provide the durability, size, and convenience that these do. I love Nalgene bottles, mostly because they're large and simple. I can stick a straw in it and drink from that, or drink directly from the mouth of it -- heck I can even buy a little adapter that will keep it from spilling on me. It's also a very, very durable bottle. I bought this one to replace an old one that may or may not have had BPA in it. Not sure on the whole BPA debate, but figured I'd play it safe -- it also didn't hurt to buy my own and choose a color I liked as opposed to the pink (blech) one I inherited. My old pink one was dinged and scraped and beaten to pieces before I got it and it was still doing it's job, a testament to the durability of these products. My favorite color is Teal and I simply adore this color (trout green). So far, I've already dropped it a couple of times on hard asphalt and aside from a few dings and scratches, it's perfectly fine. One of my favorite aspects of these is how large they are. I have the 32 oz. and try to fill it with water and empty it twice a day. I carry it with me when I go to work/school and it keeps me hydrated while I'm away from home around questionable water sources (questionable only because I can taste differences in water and despise how city water tastes like dirt and algae). If you're on the fence about buying one, don't be. The quality is worth it, the size is worth it, the choice of colors is worth it, and being able to keep track of how much water you're consuming is worth it. Stick a few vinyl stickers on it to make it yours and enjoy!

One night my friends and I decide to go at 3am to take pictures of each other in a nice part of campus because the party is dead
About Glow Feature: Who doesn't want a glow in the dark bottle and for those of you wondering if this thing glows in the dark, allow me to offer an anecdote: I couldn't figure out where I had misplaced my bottle and was upset. One night my friends and I decide to go at 3am to take pictures of each other in a nice part of campus because the party is dead. As I sat in the darkness of the backseat I noticed a green glow out of the corner of my eye. This bottle isn't a flashlight, but it is very recognizable if you're disorganized and lose things easily (BONUS: Easy to find when you're half asleep and trying to find water in the dark because you're a mess who doesn't hydrate properly). About Size: One last thing is that this bottle (the 1000ml) is great for measuring water intake if you suck at keeping yourself drinking a healthy amount of water. One of these 1000ml bottles is roughly 1/4th of a gallon (in case ya don't feel like googling that). This bottle is also very easy to carry around, although at a glance it may not seem so, especially because of the plastic linking the bottle to the cap being so easy and comfortable to hook your fingers into. About Durability: This brand in incredibly durable and I am one heck of a person so naturally this bottle has really been tested by my lack of organization and coordination. When I set out to find a bottle the most important thing for me was durability because I constantly drop everything in my hands 100 times a day and have broken almost every bottle I have ever owned. This bottle is tough and seriously deserved 5 stars on durability. About my 5 Stars: All-in-all I am not a pretentious homie who genuinely thinks that this is the water bottle of my dreams. 100% can't live without and wouldn't want to. Also 100% not exaggerating. This line of water bottles in fantastic (yes this refers to the non glow in the dark bottles) and my absolute favorite for having easy access to copious amounts of fluids. 100% recommend. 100% love this brand's bottles.

good, solid purchase
i bought this product for a few reasons. i needed a bottle that was easy to clean, not hard to carry/transport, could hold a good amount of water, and of course, looked cute. The Nalgene bottle lived up to all my standards, and then some. It fits perfectly in the side pocket of my backpack when I am walking around campus, and holds half of the recommended amount of water to drink per day. And, as a bonus, the plastic doesn't affect the taste of the water when it sits in the bottle (I have had that experience in the past, and I am not a fan). I love that it is washer-safe and has a wide mouth which enables me to hand-wash in the sink of my dorm room. It's super durable, and I can tell I will be using it, as well as other Nalgene products for years to come.

Great as always!
I’ve owned a couple of these exact bottles over the last few years. The only reason I get a new one is solely for hygienic purposes. I know how safe these are to drink from, I know they’re good forever, but, for $11, it’s not a big inconvenience to buy one every 18 months or so. I’ve seen some reviews mentioning a plastic taste/odor as well as an odor after not using it for a while. The initial plastic taste/odor can easily be removed by washing the bottle, cap, and cap threads with light detergent (Dawn, Palmolive, etc.) before using it. This should be done with everything you’re going to eat/drink out of or with. Make sure you dry it thoroughly after. You can also stick the bottle in a dishwasher to remove the plastic taste/odor. For the odor after not using the bottle for a while, clean it as instructed above. If the smell is extremely bad, mold is most likely present, and the bottle should probably be tossed away. These need to be used, they can’t just sit around with the remnants of old water in them for days or weeks on end and then be expected to stay clean. The bottle and cap are extremely durable. I’ve dropped it repeatedly, empty and full, and never had an issue. I recommend getting a brighter color so you don’t misplace the bottle. If you’re someone who doesn’t drink water often and wants to start drinking more of it, definitely pick a bottle like this up. It really does help you drink more water, as well as helping keep the earth free of empty plastic disposable bottles.

Changed over to Nalgene from store bottled water, they've held up, less plastic in the landfill.
We live in the desert of Arizona, and for months we can have high temperatures in the hundreds, and lows in the 90's. We used to go through a Lot of disposable water bottles from the store - two to three cases a week. We were looking to find a way to keep the convenience of water bottles without throwing away so much plastic, when we purchased the first of our Nalgene bottles. We were looking for a "Made in USA" product that would hold up, and they have performed very well. We now own about thirty of the bottles in different shapes and colors and sizes. We fill them up with our water purifier next to the sink. The water tastes just as good or better than bottled water. These bottles don't hold "smells" like we've encountered with other bottles. The 16oz is the most popular in our household, however we do have a few 32oz sized bottles too, and they are handy for times when more water is going to be needed. We do still keep a couple of store waters around, mostly for people to take on the road when that comes up. If you're wondering if they will fit in your fridge, the 16oz wide mouth measures 2 5/8" Diameter by 6 7/8" Tall. The 32oz measures 3 1/2" Diameter by 8 3/8" Tall. I have washed the bottles in the picture over 100 times (saving a lot of plastic in a landfill, I hope) and although they cost more, the bottles have held up extremely well. I'm extremely happy with our decision to go with Nalgene. Yes, you have to wash them and fill them, and keep track of them, and it's not a perfect system. However, these have lasted months without a single failure, and I believe they will last a few years, replacing us throwing away hundreds of water bottles for each of these. Disclosure: I did not get paid in any manner for this review, and these are my own opinions as a customer and user, and I'm not affiliated with any bottle product or Nalgene in any way other than an Amazon customer.

A great bottle for a great price.
These are great bottles at a great price, and they work really well for use around the house. Everyone gets their own distinct color and they are easy to find and keep clean, and best of all they don’t contribute to landfill waste or encourage cans or bottles of soda to be consumed which is unhealthy and expensive. I love the colors, they look good in person as they do in the pictures. The harder plastic Tritons style bottles seem to be a little easier to clean and don’t absorb flavors like the softer HDPE style bottles do. I have both kinds. HDPE is a couple bucks cheaper and I actually have used those more for camping since I think they are a little more durable to getting dropped on rocks or bashed around. I’ve never broken one of either kind, and I’ve used them for thousands of miles of hiking over all kinds of terrain in all kinds of weather all around the world. These are great for everyday use and for adventures.

Many times better than carrying around water in a wash cloth.
Great bottle. Contains water within its walls, if you are on the go a lot and normally carry water in your hands, in your mouth, or on a table, this is a much better solution. The bottle has no fingers for the water to slip through, unlike hands, and contains the water on all sides, rather than just one side of a table. I am very happy with my purchase. I have removed one star because the Eastman Tritan co-polyester plastic used in its production does not have a publicly available formula. It is BPA free, but the co-polyester is a brand name that covers a small range of varied plastics. There is a potential risk of other endocrine altering hormones that could be in the plastic, and leech out when the bottle is subjected to high thermal stress that is within the advertised range of the bottle. I have found a couple studies that examine this exact bottle, when boiling water (100C) is in it for 2 hours the plastic can begin to break down. There are also indications of high thermal stress in the production of the bottle. The bottle is advertised as safe for 100C temperatures, while I am 99.99% sure that is the case, there is no way to be sure, at least for the causal consumer, of exact plastic used in its production. The plastic does not have any safety issues when exposed to UV sunlight, which the same can not be said for many of nalgene's lesser competitors. Sunlight is probably my biggest worry when drinking from plastics, this is probably the safest bet save for a metal container. That said I plan on drinking many gallons of water from this in the future, and I honestly won't be worrying about the plastic it is made from. I probably wouldn't even worry if it was still made of the old polycarbonate. However at least I can look up exactly what the polycarbonate is, that is really my main gripe with this proprietary stuff.

Sometimes it's best to go back to the basics
Yes, having a stainless steel double-insulated water bottle is great for having ice cold water or steaming hot tea waiting for you for hours after you poured it in. No contest. BUT for something that is almost as indestructible but more lightweight and well-priced, you can't beat a Nalgene. It's just a good, solid, basic water bottle. Wide mouth for adding plenty of ice and easier clean-up. No weird chemical taste. Customizable. Colorful. "Cool." Good size options. (Also, I'm weird and prefer to guzzle room temp water when I'm thirsty since I'm impatient and chugging ice cold water makes my tum-tum hurt). While I might bring a metal water bottle into the office (sleeker design, no need to worry about condensation dripping onto papers), Nalgene has been my go-to for sports (lighter, less bulky, easier to fill up at water fountains, not as afraid of it dropping, can be clipped onto my bag/fence).

Everyday for everyone
