This is a well-designed, simple calculator that handles typical four-function math. Large, easy to read display that includes a comma to help ensure long strings are easier to read. The buttons are slightly sculpted which helps ensure you don't hit more than one at a time, and are nicely spaced. The display angles up and is legible in even somewhat dim lighting.Seems well-built - better than I expected given the price. Excellent choice if you're looking for a small desktop or hand-held calculator.My only complaint is that you can't clear the memory unless you display it. That seems to be the way with all calculators today. A shame -- I have a very old one that allows you to clear memory without displaying the number (e.g., has separate buttons for clear memory and display memory). That comes in handy at times.

I have had many small calculators in my lifetime. I had the TI2500 years ago--one of the first small digital one with soldered in rechargeable batteries. It was an LED--a style in calculators and watches from the period which didn't last very long. Since those early days these small calculators have certainly evolved in function and charging ability. This one is shaped a bit different from many current ones. It is not a rectangle but you can either use it as a desk model or hold it in your hand and use it that way--if you hands are big enough. Functions are on the simple side for the most part--they are handled quickly and efficiently . I have taken a liking to this small unit. I usually use it as a desk model or while sitting in my lounge chair doing simple calculations--like for doing your taxes or figuring out the taxes on purchases. You can input the local tax rate into memory and use it to calculate things you want to buy--a lot easier than putting in the % rate each time you do a calculation--pretty common on most calculators today.I also like the fact that it is "dual power" and the battery is relatively easy to change--a small cover on the back of the calculator is unscrewed and the battery is exchanged--takes an LR 54/other names as well. Hoping the "durability" factor is good--TI units usually are but time will tell. Worth buying!

This is my favorite everyday calculator. I like it because you can program tax rate and simple to use.

I been using another Solar powered Texas Instruments TI-1795+ on my desk for the past 25 years.until the screen finally started to fail.This is the same brand & model number and accept for the buttons to +/- the sales tax all of the buttonsare in the same place as the last one.Only fall back I found was... I have dry skin on my hands and don't get a lot of traction when trying to pickit up... and it would shoot across my desk like a wet fish.. My solution was to take a file to the sides andgive them just a little texture to grab on to.I'm hoping to get the same life span as the last... I'll update if I don't.Nice little calculator. I would recommend.
