Loved the book in every way The only issue was that it got delivered almost after 20 days...the seller didn't despatch the order quickly, nor did he even upload the pre-paid invoice...

There is nothing to comment on the storyline. The book is excellently presented. The translation is bi old English, but nice to read. The book is beautifully bound - nice to hold. I simply love this book.

Haven't read yet. The Book (Modern library 2004 edition mass market paperback) is lightweight and small (equal to the size of your palm). Yet the book contains more than 1000 pages. Smallness of the book disappointed me at first. But, I hope content would be gold. A cursory glance of the book convinced me that The translation is lofty and rhythmic. In preface, Richard Burton (the translator) says that he is in love with the source material. He took up the task to come out of his ennui. As such, the book has not come out of the necessity but out of love and reverence of culture and climate of ages past in Arabia and the east. The book does not contain whole of the author's work but is a selection. The selection is of "most famous and representative " stories of Burton's work. The tales like "Alladin; the wonderful lamp", "Alibaba and forty thieves" , "Sinbad the seaman" etc has entered the popular imagination. You probably would have heard it during your childhood but in diluted for stripped from all literary elegance. Now, enter the faithful rendition (as the author claims) of the beloved tales while enjoying also their literary brilliance.

Absolutely wonderful. Very happy with the purchase. The cover is very beautiful and the illustrations are also very beautiful. The pages are average but let's be honest, we don't buy books because of the quality of the pages. Absolutely wonderful.

Barnes & Noble, really nailed it. This book is seriously worth buying. The intricate embossed designs on the hardcover and inside amongst the pages, are simply mind-blowing. It definitely brings book-reading and book-appreciation to a whole new level. Especially, if the book is on those classics and legends.

Bardzo ładnie wydana książka, ładny papier, czcionka przyjemna w czytaniu, średniej wielkości. Nie ma ilustracji, język jest archaiczny. Książka to oryginalny tekst (pełnej długości zawartych w niej opowiadań), wydany w postaci "streszczonej" po polsku jako "Księga tysiąca jednej nocy - Wybór" W. Kubiaka. Jeżeli ktoś woli papierowe "pełne" wydanie niż tekst elektroniczny (public domain) zdecydowanie polecam.
