Great shower filter. We've been using this for two years now and couldn't be happier with it. My husband can really tell a difference in his dry skin, and I can tell a huge difference in my hair. I just ordered our third one, and they do seem to last right at a year. Both last year and this year, I got to a point where I realized that my curly hair was being frizzier and more difficult than usual to style. Only after realizing this did I think that maybe it was time to change our shower filter. Sure enough, I checked my Amazon orders and it had been exactly a year since I'd last ordered one! I always forget to reorder the filters, but my hair is good at reminding me. As soon as I changed the filter, my curls went back to being smooth and easy to style. We also use the shower head to fill the tub for our kids' baths so they aren't soaking in chlorine and other chemicals.

This really makes a huge difference for me. My skin and hair feel so much softer and I don't get irritated by the chlorinated water. I just ordered a replacement and got it in yesterday (1/22/15). I put the previous one in about 9 months prior. I was noticing my skin starting to get irritated and dried out again. Got the replacement, installed it, and it was "night and day." When reading the instructions, I saw that it says to flip the filter every 30 days (about once a month) for optimal flow. I forgot to do this on my previous one so I wonder if that affected the length of time it worked. So, remember to flip the filter! Lol The packaging says it can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months depending on water usage and amount if substance being filtered. I wouldn't say mine lasted even 9 months, though, because of how my skin was feeling irritated and dried out again (gradually) probably at least a few weeks or even a couple months before now changing it. That could have something to do with me forgetting to flip the filter, or it could be that the water where I live is just really bad... which it is. All in all, it's a great product, easy to install/uninstall (for filter changes), and doesn't take up much room. I recommend it!

I have used Sprite shower filters for about 4 years and I couldn't be happier with them. Sometimes the chlorine would irritate my eyes and dry out my skin horribly if I took a longer hot shower. These eliminated my chlorine-shower irritation completely. Installation super easy! I only wish there would be some way to know when it is time to replace... These last about 6 months, but that depend on usage. I always forget when it has been 6 months, and finally figure out that it is time for a new one when the red-chlorine eye starts bothering me. I am so glad that I invested in a shower filter! These replacements are well worth it! 40 bucks for not eating copious amounts of chlorine every single day for year? Sign me up!

I choose this rating because I needed a replacement filter for my shower head, I needed one that was affordable and fits well in my shower head, it fits perfectly and the price was much less than the competition. I have already recommended this item to one of my five Children , I will also recommend this item to my other four Children, my friends and my associates. We get about one year's life out of these, as advertised. It's installed inline in on the hot water side of a bathtub that draws about 40 to 50 gallons per. Lady takes a bath about every other day, calculating to about 9000 gallons/yr. We know it's time to replace when the flow slows. Also, when the media is black, it's past time to replace. (Although the product image shows an opaque cover, in reality, you can see the KDF media, either through an inspection slot in the wrapper, or through the translucent shell or end caps, depending on the iteration of the filter.) After a year, the media is always black for us. City water, water softener. No iron. As I've written previously in a similar review for the entire assembly, before the filter, the bathroom smelled like an indoor pool (chlorine smell) after pouring a bath, especially when you turned on the water jets. With the filter, there is no chlorine smell at all.

Have been using these for several years. Started using due to itchy skin in winter. Hair gets stiff when it's time to change filter. Easy to use and works perfectly.

I have been using these filters for a number of years and although they don't last as long as I would like, they do a great job leaving the hair and skin smooth and clean. Our water lines need cleaning and this does a great job in the meantime. I also travel with it and use my sprite-hoc shower filter where ever possible.
