Modway Engage Mid-Century Modern Upholstered Fabric Accent Arm Lounge Chair in Azure, Armchair

I bought this one after the identical one I had wore out - the fabric at the elbows wore too thin after about 9 years of daily use. I was happy that this one has modifications which make the legs more sturdy. The seat is wide, and the arms provide a nice place for my cat to sit.

I was hesitant to make such an expensive purchase on Amazon, it seemed risky. I am a tall fluffy female, so I wanted a structurally sound and lasting chair. Reviews were reassuring so I decided to take the risk. I absolutely love the chair. The seat is a bit higher off the floor making it easier to rise when standing. I also don’t sink in so much because the chair is firmer while still being comfortable. I intend to purchase a matching loveseat in the near future. Update: the chair has softened up some and I don’t sit quite as high now. But I still like the chair and as of today, now have the loveseat in citrus. (See photo. Pardon my bare walls.) I think it is a great price for what you get. I could have gotten a slightly better quality couch for more that twice the price but I would rather plan to change it up in 5 or so years with a new couch.

This is a cool chair, but as others have posted, the screw-in legs are a but problematic. They don't all screw in perfectly even, hence the extra washers that come with it to go between the legs and the bottom of the frame. You can't notice the extra washers, though. Also, be careful not to screw the legs too tight, as you can either crack the frame (one poster noted this) or, as I did, loosen the anchored metal casings the screws go into (the casing themselves are screwed into the frame). I was able to fix this by using some super glue on a casing, screwing it back into the frame, and the screwing the leg back into the casing. I would suggest using the extra washers supplied before over-tightening any legs to achieve the correct angle for each while still feeling fully supportive. The supplied instructions are not helpful, fyi. Once assembled (that's it, just screwing in the legs and tinkering with the balance and correct support), it does not feel cheap at all. However, there are plastic glides on the legs that seem to defy friction, so I highly suggest placing this on a rug so it doesn't slide all over the place. In terms of comfort, it is a very firm chair, but huge. Normal-sized people can easily curl up on it with a book or sit sideways with their legs draped over an arm to watch tv. Definitely requires a lumbar/decorative pillow purchase, though. The color in the picture is very accurate. I would say it leans slightly towards a bit of a darker teal, but you can safely go by the picture on the site and not be disappointed. Wish the legs were a bit darker, but they're hardly noticeable. Very cool chair for the price, the only complaint being the leg assembly.

This chair is pretty and big. It is also hard and not so comfortable. The seat is so firm that it makes you sit up higher than anyone else in the room. A pillow is needed to soften the back. I have a love hate relationship with this chair. I love the look but hate how uncomfortable it is.

I bought two beige chairs. They arrived packed very well and a few days earlier than expected. The fabric is great, not rough or scratchy. The color was exactly as pictured. They seem to be well made and very solid. They are large. As most other reviews have stated, they are FIRM. Like 10 out of 10 firm. I don’t mind this at all and still find them pretty comfortable, but I do hope they break in just a little more as they are used. I’m happy with them!

Let's cut to the chase: I am pleasantly surprised and extremely pleased with this chair. Given the reviews and for the price, I had expected it to be kinda chintzy but I am pleased to report it has the quality of a Crate & Barrel piece. Everything from the packaging to the way the legs are stored to the wrap it comes in to the velcro protectors indicates this piece was made to last and modway takes pride in their work. The very first thing I did was open the box up (from the bottom is easiest) and inspect the leg holes, and they were fine. There's a very faint white scuff on the top of it, but that might have been my doing getting it up the stairs. I think it says 60lbs but it doesn't feel that heavy. I got it through my front door, up the stairs (easy to roll up), and through my office door (which is a little narrow) without any problems by myself. The sit is firm, but I think it's just right. I feel well supported and there's no way this cushion will ever sag, although I do think it will soften slightly with time. The fabric feels very nice and warm to the touch, it could be mistaken for a more expensive material. Be sure to take good measurements of your space as it is a wider chair, but that's what I love about it. All in all, I'm very satisfied and would order from modway again.

Solid...like a rock. Including the cushions, which is not what cushions should be. I like the idea of firm, but I don't want to watch tv on something harder than a park bench

I am so in love with this chair. It is firm, but it holds up well and it is a large chair I can curl up in with a good book. I have three pets and the hair is easily vacuumed off and even though it’s a light color it is pretty resistant to muddy paws. My only complaint about this chair is I bought one to make sure I liked it and when I went to buy the second one the price increased a pretty substantial amount so I waited to see if it would go back down in price but it never did. I ended up waiting a few months and the price never went back down so I sucked it up and bought the second one. Other than that, I am very happy with these chairs.

Leg is fixed with pins it gets very easily broken
