Aico EI3024

After much deliberation I decided to change our old and yellow smoke alarms. You are supposed to renew them every 10 years and our were passed that date. I spent some time researching and these fir the bill - heat & smoke detection, suggested to use in relevant areas (hall and landing), fitted-for-life lithium back up battery and interconnect function (both sound if one is triggered). Much nicer figment than our old ones, with a simple mounting plate into which the alarm model is clipped once secured and wired in. Added bonus than you can access a status report from the alarm via the manufacturers app (SoundLink+).

Had this brand for years, mine are hard wired together and although they still work well after ten years I replace them as recommended. I will be fitting some of the newer type with bases that have wireless communication, in a church manse, to comply with new regulations that demand that all alarms are interconnected saving the cost and hassle of installing a hard wired system.

I had 6 Aico Ei166RC smoke detectors that needed replacement - 3 in rooms and 3 in hallway/landing. I live in Scotland so these are mains supplied and hardwired interlinked I decided to upgrade to the EI3024 in the 3 rooms as their detection had more functionality than the basic smoke detector The bases for the old Ei166RC and the new EI3024 are identical so the replacement/upgrade was just simply turn off the breaker for the smoke detectors, swap out the detector units from the bases, turn the breaker back on and test - simples Well done Aico for maintaining a standardisation of basic design

I bought a pair of these to replace two smoke alarms that had gone passed their replace by date. These EI3024 alarms arrived much sooner than expected.. I’m not an electrician but I was only replacing existing smoke alarms in my own house. The connectors were different so I turned the power off while I cut the wires from the previous ones and wired these up.. They have two sensors, one optical smoke and one heat in both alarms.. they have rechargeable lithium batteries which last the life of the alarms.. these are 10 year alarms and the ones I received say replace in March 2032 so that is ten years as I got them in February 2022.. I’m really impressed by AUDIOLINK which enables your phone or tablet, with the aid of an app, to get reports from the alarms using sound, not radio or Wi-Fi.. you have to hold the phone near to the alarm and press the test button three times..

Was looking for a replacement multisensor device as my existing one set was not working only after 3 years. Supplier of the previous set is known for not making it easy for clients and all sets were not compatible between each other, so I have outruled them already. Particularly I was looking for device that would not trigger at any possible occasion - after cloing a bit of a research I found out that multisensor device would be best. Was searching for fairly reliable supplier to test device, found very good opinions about AICO as making effort keeping compatibility between models so they fit same base and being compatible between systems. Bout this one for a trial, it works well - it triggered only once when there was an event (I won't say who was cooking :). Overall I'm very happy with the purchase.

Once you read the instructions you realise how simple it is to swop over. No need to change the base, mine was 25 years old! And all the connections were identical. The unit now comes with new types of sensors too. Obviously likely to interchange with the same make of sensor.
