Rockford Fosgate R250X1 Prime 1-Channel Mono Block Amplifier

I wasnt looking for the loudest bass in the world more then quality good sound so I chose this amp with the Rockford Fosgate Prime 10" Shallow Enclosure to add to my system thats currently in progress. I have it hooked up to a Boss dvd in dash that was also bought off amazon and its 85x4. The hookup was pretty simple it going into a '08 Toyota Corolla. I wanted to just get a nice upgrade from stock without trying to take out my whole trunk or make my car rattle apart as ive done with a prior vehicle on 4 18's. I I wasnt expecting this amp to do much being the rms being so low and the sub looking so small when I looked at it but I tell you once I ran everything and tuned it this bad boy gets it. Smooth clear bass and gives the perfect amount I was looking for in such a small package. For the price and the overall quality by doing the prime series its been great. Ive had mine in now a couple weeks and it makes me look forward to driving again. Im actually upgrading my door and rear speakers and tweeters with the prime series this next week to complete the package. I would recommend this to anyone wanting great value and amazing quality.

I bought this with the R400-4D and made a simple plywood mount which I then put behind my F-250 passenger seat. (regular cab) I also ran 8 gauge from the battery and connected the ground to the frame underneath. I am using a pioneer DEH-8400BH. For speakers I went with a 10" box sub which fit perfect behind the middle seat (ok not a seat) and 2 8" on the doors and 2 enclosed sony speakers I Velcro to the cab corner which fits tight with my seat back. It all sounds simply amazing. I now realize the importance of doing things right ( I know I should have done 4 gauge :( ) but using this class D system is so much better on my truck. My previous Class AB really got hot and sucked the life (amps) right out of my truck. This is the Amp set you were wondering about. You just can't go wrong with these two units. I may want to upgrade my pioneer next if anyone has any good ideas. Anyway right now its the best stereo I've ever heard in a truck.

I received my amp and the first thing I saw in the box was an official "birth certificate" from Rockford Fosgate that said that the actual RMS output of my amp was 308 Watts. As expected it seems that RF under rates their amps. I was glad to see this as I paired the amp with the Rockford Fosgate Prime R1L-2X10 Double R1 10-Inch Preloaded Enclosure which is rated for 300 watts RMS. This amp is quite small too. About 11x9x2 inches. One thing I want to say is that my original plan to wire up the amp with the high level speaker inputs was not going to happen. Basically I wasn't able to output more than 1 or 2 volts to the subs from the amp while attempting to use the high level inputs. (I used a DMM to set the gain and playing 57hz @0dB at 75% volume on the stock head unit (22) which meant that the output voltage should have been at around 24V to prevent clipping) Unfortunately I wasn't even able to get 2 volts from the high level inputs so basically I had no choice but to use the LOC for my install. As far as the amp performs it's great. It hardly even gets warm. I am pretty pleased overall with how well the amp plays and the fact that it includes the remote bass control knob. But make sure you use an LOC. And just as a tip the settings I use are -Punch EQ: Min -Freq: between 60-80hz -Gain: This will depend on your individual setup, use a DMM! Take the actual RMS power and multiply it by the ohms of your sub. Then find the square root of that number. That is the target voltage output you will be looking for (AC). So then you want to play a tone at 50 to 60hz @0dB at 75% of your headunit volume and with the sub disconnected slowly raise the gain until you are just under the target voltage and you will be safe.

I hooked up this amp to a single 12 inch RF subwoofer in a vented box. It sound solid and I enjoy the remote volume for the amp which gives me great flexibility with a variety of music. Great buy!

Simple but awesome amplifier for the price. I have this paired with a single 10" RF R2D4-10 in a sealed box under the rear bench of my Dodge Ram Quad Cab. Sub and amp is a perfect match. Amplifier is 250W RMS @ 2 Ohms and the sub is rated at 250W RMS. Birth sheet on this amp actually said 314W RMS but I don't know what THD% that is at. Either way, properly setup with the right sub and enclosure, 250W is a nice setup. I wasn't looking to rattle neighbors windows like some punk kids do, just wanted to fill in the low end freq my door speakers couldn't. RF Prime Amps / Subs are a good bang for your buck. I will be purchasing another RF R250x4 and Prime Series 6x9", 6 .5" speakers for my doors. For a total price tag of around $500 for all new speakers, 2 amps, and a 10" sub....it will be a nice sounding 500W RMS system with plenty of adjustability. Don't get me wrong, this is not competition level stuff, but still decent stereo equipment for a DIYer!

I ordered Rockford Fosgate R250X1 Amplifier to power a single 12" subwoofer from TacoTunes (Image Dynamics ID12 D4 V.4). The subwoofer is rated at 250RMS at 2ohms and can handle up to 400max watts. The Rockford Fosgate amp I received came with a certification sheet that tested out at 320watts RMS at 2ohms which I was pleased to see. Wired at a 2ohm load, It produces a bit of heat under normal load, but nothing crazy. The amp is small enough to fit behind the seat of my 2017 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab. It has plenty of controls and pushed my 12" sub with ease. 4 Gauge power\ground wire fits in with ease. I like how all the wiring terminals are just on one side and I also like how all the audio setting knobs are on the top instead of the side. It does come with a remote control and high\low input (though I used RCA instead) There are only two things that i'm not to fond of: 1. The remote blue LED light is extremely bright. I had to put electrical tape over it to stop it from blinding me at night 2. The mounting holes are not easy to get to This is probably one of the best amps you can buy for the money!

IT'S FOSGATE, what else can I say. I've had a hundred different high end amps and this one is right up there with the best. Can't believe the power and clarity for the size. Matched it with a 250rms 10" single infiniti reference sub in a hatchback. Running all Fosgate Prime doors and this amp. Unbelievable setup. Custom vented box tuned to 32hz. Hits so hard the nick in the windshield turned into a crack that goes from one side to other. Gain set to about 70%. FOSGATE ONLY from here on out!

Perfect for making my factory Pioneer 10" sub go BOOM! RMS rated higher than advertised. Mine came in at 308 RMS which is perfect for the 10 @ 2ohm The remote Bass boost is very handy as well, sometimes you don't want that much bass right?....

Works great, birthed at 310 watts, runs cool, good sound.

Good amp for the price point. But seem to have issues with over heating when cranking for long periods (hours). I have mounted behind seat in F150. I had over heating issues with another amp as well. Both at around same price point. So not sure if its because of the mounting location (seems it could be), or I just need to spend a bit more on a higher quality amp.
