This text is designed for courses in medical imaging systems. It is also suitable for professionals seeking an overview of medical imaging systems. With signal processing as its foundation, Medical Imaging Signals and Systems , Second Edition covers the most important imaging modalities in radiology: projection radiography, x-ray computed tomography, nuclear medicine, ultrasound imaging, and magnetic resonance imaging. Organized into parts to emphasize key overall conceptual divisions, Medical Imaging is most appropriate for engineering students who have taken the prerequisite signals and systems courses as well as elementary probability. This program presents a better teaching and learning experienceโfor you and your students. Teach with a dynamic art program: The textโs wealth of images and diagrams help students visualize key concepts. Capture studentsโ attention: Motivational example problems both keep students focused and reveal interesting features. Use relevant material: Biologically relevant examples illustrate the important context of medical imaging. Review: Amazing book - I would recommend getting this even if you aren't studying medical imaging. Best textbook i've ever read. Review: Nice overall review of each image modality - Nice overall review of each image modality. Would recommend a companion book on Fourier transform if it's new for you as the first couple chapters are more of a review than a detailed explanation.

Text to Speech Disabled
For some reason this book has text to speech disabled. The book is good, but I am frustrated that as a text book (meant to teach people) they have not taken into account different types of learning styles.

Well explained
I took a course on Medical Imaging for my curriculum in signal processing. The book explains how to get signals for basic imaging devices and how to reconstruct the image from the signals. It is well written and explained and the review on signal processing is very helpful for those who are not very familiar with basic concepts.
