Seymour 7000496 Ironing Board

Tossed my ironing board out ages ago but I've recently decided to give quilting a try. While I was thinking about one of the table top boards, the difference in price swayed me to go with a traditional board and I liked the price of this Seymour product.In my opinion, it's not the most sturdy board (press down on the board and it does "give" under the pressure) out there but I'm only going to use it for simple crafting needs. I also don't have any pets or toddlers so I'm not concerned about the possibility of the board being knocked over by accident.I'm not crazy about the pad/cover. Not only is it on the thin side but also it just fits the board so I found myself repositioning the cover several times. I already have another pad/cover in my Amazon cart.I do like the black "clip" that's underneath the board's "nose" that serves to lock the one leg in place when folded up. I liked knowing the board wouldn't open up when carried down the hall and stored in my closet.All in all, for me and the intended use being strictly crafts, I'm pleased with my purchase.

I was pleasantly surprised when this board arrived. It is very lightweight, making it easy for me to get out and put away, but is still sturdy enough when I use it. There is a slight wobble, but definitely not enough to be a problem. I also like that I can adjust the height to a comfortable level and that it collapses and opens so easily. The print is a little different than what is shown in the picture (I like it a little better, actually). Overall, a great product for the price.

The ironing board is a good height, quiet when opening, light, and a nice cover....except for the knife slash mark! After I set it up and was about to iron on it for the first time, I noticed that the pattern near the end looked different. When I looked closer, I saw that there was a knife slit about 6 inches long and that someone had tried to cover it up with tape! I don't have time to wrap it and send it back, so I guess I will deal with, as it's a spare board for when I visit my boyfriend's house.....I should have just gone to the store and bought one in person.

It does the job. It's well made, but as other's have mentioned, it is slightly wobbly, but not to the point of tipping. My iron is fine on it. It's light and works for me.

cheap and cheerful, with some caveats. definitely not high-quality, as every part on it flexes and bows under the weight incurred through normal usage. the cover is cheap, and the whole board will fall over easily if set up on carpeting. don't walk away from this board while your iron is still hot, as you might find your iron on the floor when you come back to it. all that said, it was inexpensive, and i had an idea of what i was getting into when i ordered a board of this price-class. three stars out of five

Holy camoly! There sure are a lot of expensive ironing boards out there. I had no idea what I was getting when I ordered this thing, but I lucked out. and shelling out a few extra bucks for this board was worth it. It's functional and doesn't make that god awful nails-on-a-chalk-board noise when you open it. If you're main mission in ironing is to open your board and pound out a few pants and shirts this thing has you covered.

not sturdy, I had to jam a piece of plastic bag in the joint area where the 2 legs connect and then it became usable. It gets the job done but if you are doing lots of ironing you may want to purchase a better board.

Do NOT purchase this ironing board. If I could give it zero stars, I would! Our old ironing board finally quit, and I thought it would be a simple item to replace. Not so. I discovered that the price of ironing boards range from very inexpensive to alarmingly expensive. I read the customer reviews of the least expensive boards and decided it would be safer to go with a mid-priced item (I refuse to spend $100.00 for and ironing board). Reviews were mixed in both categories, which made it more difficult to decide. So I took a chance on the Seymour Ironing Board.When we set it up, we found it to be a lot lighter than our old board and it was not stable. Although the cover was extremely thin, that didn't bother me because I planned to use an additional pad & cover anyway. However, we noticed one of the T legs was definitely crooked, causing the board to lean and wobble. In fact, while ironing, the iron fell off the ironing board (something I would not expect to happen). My husband had considered banging the leg to straighten it but after the falling iron incident, we decided to return to board.This board never should have been packaged and released for sale. So it appears there is no quality control or the manufacturers just don't care. You might get a board that is fine but you just might get a piece of junk as i did. I think that if you spend $49.95 for an ironing board, you shouldreceive one that is stable at the very least. This board is a piece of junk--be warned!
