Awesome indoor alternative to an outside vent.
Love this thing! I live in an apartment that has a small laundry facility. With all the other tenants here it was a nightmare trying to get laundry done and I started going to the local laundry mat to get all the laundry done every week. That added up pretty fast and I was faced with the need to relocate to someplace that I could have my own washer and dryer or figure something else out. I researched apartment sized washers and dryers and found an awesome brand designed for yachts or RV's called Splendide. Splendide makes their own HE brand of detergent which works so much better with the machines than Gain or Tide. Their detergent doesn't gum up the inside of the machine. These appliances would run on my regular wiring with no issues and they had a ventless model dryer. It said that it would take quite a while to dry (the ventless model) so I got the vented machine instead and used a long nylon over the vent to contain the lint. That worked ok but not well enough to suit me. I researched additional inside dryer vent systems. I didn't want an ongoing cost of purchasing air filters for some of the better systems which were already expensive enough the way it was. The cheaper vent kits looked like they could be a huge mess or just down right ineffective. After scouring reviews and looking for venting options until my eyes bugged out, I finally came across this little beauty. It has a screen filter that has a handle to turn to remove the lint effectively with out the constant need to replace any filters. The water section that catches the remainder of the lint is a pull out drawer at the bottom that can easily be refilled every week and slides back into the unit with out any hassle. There was no need to cut any holes in the landlords wall to ventilate. No more going to the laundromat! The dryer vent works better than the other models I researched and I am happy about this purchase. I needed a vent hose to connect the kit to the dryer which I purchased on Amazon also. I went with white to match the appliances and the vent box sits on the floor right up against the machines by the wall. I've had this for several weeks now and I am absolutely thrilled with the purchase and at a very reasonable price point. Would definitely buy again without hesitation, and I highly recommend this vent kit to anyone having issues that are similar to mine.

Wow! Incredible! Love my Dryer Vent!
I wish I bought this sooner! I have my washer and dryer in my outdoor patio for 20 years. I used to have the dryer hose behind my dryer. Then recently my dryer stopped working. When the old dryer was removed there was a lot of lint build up behind my washer and the wall where my old dryer was. When the new dryer was placed back, I decided to have the hose beside the dryer so that the lint would not build up behind the dryer. Now the lint was floating out to the patio. My husband wanted me to put a pantyhose but then I would be having to change it and I dont think it would look good. I would sweep it up but thought I will search on Amazon. There was so many to choose from. This dryer vent trap works great! It was expensive though but it will last a long time. I read the reviews and this one seemed the one for me. I could have picked other ones that were cheaper but I’m glad I did not. I used my dryer a few times before doing this review. I put water in the dryer vent trap like it says to but you really don’t need to. I think the water is to catch the lint from floating. I empty out water when I’m done drying for the day. My patio does not have little lint fragments everywhere anymore. I love it!

Big Improvement Over Others - Finally Say Goodbye to Indoor Snow
Basically, if you have an electric dryer, three things come out of the vent: heat, humidity, and the lint that gets through the lint filter inside the dryer. If you want to get rid of the heat and humidity, forget about this, because you need an outside vent. However, this thing solves the third problem in an elegant way, catching the lint in a fine mesh, metal screen so it doesn't blow all over your room. It is also directional, meaning you can point the heat and moisture in a specific direction, rather than letting it just leak out everywhere. That can be helpful if you have a small laundry space and are trying to get the moisture out of the room so it can dissipate over the rest of the house. I had one of the cheaper things that was basically just a small tub of water that the vent sprayed into. It was better than nothing, but only just barely. It caught some of the lint, but tons still got ejected out into the room, coating everything and making for a big mess. I hated this "indoor snow" but just had to put up with it. This seems to catch all the lint, and it is easy to use and easy to keep clean. You just spin the little handle and clean the mesh, then chuck the water with the lint in it. I don't know how long it will hold up, but it definitely works much better than the cheaper one did. Don't use this if you have a gas dryer, it WILL kill you since a gas dryer also shoots carbon monoxide out the vent pipe. It is also kind of expensive for what it is, but it was worth it to me. Probably the only thing I don't like is that they assume you are going to permanently mount it somewhere, and if you just leave it sitting on top of the dryer it needs the water in the base to make it heavy enough to sit stable. Not a huge deal, except you want it empty of water except when it is in use. If you are also in a situation where you can't vent your electric dryer easily any other way, I'd say suck up the price and get it.

Works Perfectly
The hose pipe on my old dryer exhaust set up literally fell apart. I went looking for info on how it was supposed to be properly set up because I suspected it wasn't. What I found out was that it was not set up correctly and the run of piping was way too long for the number of bends in it. That was when I decided on an indoor filter. This one is pricey but had the best recommendations, so I bought it. My son installed this for me and I have been using it for about a month now. In the summer I do not want to stand in front of it any more than I have to. In 80 degree weather, even in my basement, it gets hot and muggy. When the outdoors is cooler, and I live in a smallish condo, this filter puts out precious humidity. I haven't done it yet, but I'll probably want to stand in front of it in the winter. This is easy care. At first I couldn't figure out how to easily empty the water chamber. I had a hard time juggling the outflow of waste water and not letting the bits of lint that settle in the water to go down the drain. About the third time, I laid a clean paper towel over the sink drain. I slowly started to pour out the water. The water soaks through, the lint settles on the paper towel. Then you just pick up the linty paper towel and throw it away. Easy peasy! I no longer have to worry about cleaning a dryer vent pipe, and I am a happy camper!

Overpriced, but does an ok job
Cost: $35.95 plus $9.99 shipping. Purchased seven months ago when our in-house filter no longer vented to the outside and we were unable to repair at that time. This was easy to install and sits on top of our dryer. It is made in China so is overpriced for what you get and subsequent issues. Was well-packaged and arrived undamaged. Pros: works well indoors as it keeps lint from going throughout the house; use proper grade venting duct for safety reasons as the air gets very hot. Cons: Plastic construction with wire mesh screen attached to inside of removable panel. Bottom drawer which holds water does not stay closed after a few months' use and I have to keep drawer in place with rubber bands. The handle does not remove most of the lint so I do it by hand. Our laundry room is in the middle of our our home and our thermostat is located on the wall directly outside the laundry room. Poor planning on someone's part! I do not keep the laundry room door closed while the dryer is working and as the dryer now vents hot air inside the home, it causes false readings on the thermostat so we have to make frequent adjustments for heating/cooling. My biggest issue is quality does not match high cost. It does the job which is to trap lint. That's the most positive thing I can say. If we are unable to eventually have the original up the wall, through the attic and outside vent replaced, and I find myself needing another indoor unit, I will check other options before purchasing this again.

Update **Our heating (gas) bill dropped 30%!!** A must have if you have gas heat in your home!
**UPDATE** We just got our gas bill for January (which is always the highest for this part of the country) and our bill went down over 30% from last year! I'm just beyond thrilled about this product and strongly recommend it for anyone who has gas heat! We try to be environmentally friendly as possible and it always bothered me that in the winter time we were blowing out all this hot air from the dryer just to the outside that could be coming inside to help heat and humidify our home. I read the reviews on this link trap filter and decided to give it a try. First let me say I was thrilled at how fast it arrived. It had just started to get cold and I thought it would take a good week to get to my house; it took a day. Literally a day and I was thrilled. And then I was surprised at how big it is. For some reason it looked a lot smaller in the pictures, but it's the perfect size - see pictures for comparison to the dryer for size. And it works fantastically! Blows warm, humid air into the house but traps all the lint. I do recommend pulling off the front screen and giving it a little vacuuming with a hand held vacuum attachment to get the little pieces of lint that stick to the screen, but this thing works great and I'm just thrilled to no longer be wasting all that heat and humidity that we need so badly inside the house in the winter!

Don’t buy
Will not order this item ever again. Very cheaply made and not worth the 100$ you have to spend And the return takes forever and is a pain in the @ss

Do not buy
I am not sure why you would sell this unit as a “kit” and not include a hose and clamps and mounting screws…..instead you charge 100+ dollars for a 10.00 piece of plastic. I will not buy anything else from this company.
