Digital Photography Video 800W Continuous Softbox Lighting Light Kit with Photo 105W Bulbs, AGG703

I'm a freelance photographer and videographer, and I purchased these lights as a last-minute addition to a live photobooth I did at an event, and I'm glad I did!I didn't have the budget to invest in multiple flashes and trigger/reciever units, or in high-quality brand-name light kits, but I still needed something that put out a lot of consistent light. These lights are very high quality for the price. The reflectors snap into place very well and snugly (I don't have to worry about them suddenly popping out of place). The bulbs are HUGE and very well-packaged. You're able to keep the packaging to store the bulbs in. Replacement bulbs really aren't all that expensive either.The reflectors concentrate the light, but these are not spot-shaped. They will evenly cover an area without washing out a subject or putting a dim amount of light over a huge area. Practically perfect for my needs!The bag they arrive in is big enough for both reflectors, both stands, both bulbs (in boxes), with a little room to spare (for an extension cord or something).The cords on the light units could be longer, but extension cords aren't all that rare or hard to find. There should be extension cords in your kit anyways!The only thing that I'm not impressed with are the stands. But hey, I paid mainly for the lights. The stands are juuuuuust sturdy enough to hold up these lights. I would HIGHLY recommend either using bungie cords to secure them to stable objects, using sandbags, or using gaffers tape to help tape the legs down to the floor. If a light fell over, I don't think it would hurt it, but why risk it?The bottom line: If you're needing good quality lights that won't be exposed to crazy abuse or beatings, you would be very hard pressed to find a deal that beats these. I would recommend them!

First off, the bag that it comes with is very oversized for what you are putting in it. I didn't mind cause I can just put some other lighting stuff I have in there that I didn't have a case for.Other thing that worries me is the locking mechanism to open the umbrella looks like it one bump away from closing. Nothing locks it into place except the light when its screwed in. I dont know if thats what suppose to hold it but it seems like it would be too much pressure on the socket if it closed on the light. i guess you will have to see it to understand what i mean.The cords are kinda short and one of the bulbs isn't working correctly. It lights up but its not as bright as the other one. Also not that big of a deal since a fill light should be a little darker than the other.I can see the plastic on the clamps breaking if used a lot. I was gonna use these on gigs but i can tell that they wont last. I'll prob have to modify it eventually.Overall im sure it will get the job done. Oh yea, the color of the bulbs is a daylight color. I think it mentioned that in the ad but i dont like that color. Its too blue.

I had read many of the past reviews of the product, most were very favorable. A few told a story of a burning , smoking bulb, that expired almost immediately. I did not have this problem. This lights are nice and bright, and fairly well constructed (for the price). I would recommend treating them gently during assembly and dis-assembly to avoid any breakage.I was so impressed by the value for price that I recommended the kit to a friend. He did have the burning smoking bulb problem, the putrid smell filled his home for hours. Instead of returning the entire kit, he returned only the defective bulb in exchange for a replacement. The replacement was not the same bulb, but still worked but it was a 85w vs. the original 115w. So if you go for it on this setup, odds are that you will get a good one, if you get one of the crap bulbs, be sure you get the proper replacement bulb.

I love this deal overall. The softboxes far exceed the quality I was expecting and the same with the carrying bag. The CFL bulbs where packed very well and arrived in tact, which I had my own concerns about. The light stands are very light duty, I wish that there had been an option to upgrade to something heaver. Nevertheless a great deal for the money. I have recommended this set to three friends and I will buy one more set for myself, but I will buy stands somewhere else - and its still an excellent deal!!

When purchasing this product, I thought "how bad could the stand be if they are air cushioned spring", well they are not. The stands are super cheap and practically fall over with the weight of the softbox and light when stood up all the way. Granted, this was affordably priced, so I didn't except anything fancy.Edited to add: After actually using these a few times they are essentially worthless. Unless you just need a tiny bit of fill light, these lights aren't going to light anything. They are thrown in the basement and will eventually make their way to the garbage. I do however still use the stands to clamp my reflectors to for fill light...so at least they are good for something!

When items were delivered, one did not work at all - the switch did not function. The second one also had a faulty switch - you had to jiggle it to get it to light up. Returned the first, kept the second (figured at least I could get it to turn on).Kudos, though, to the supplier - Julius World Mart. There was a card in the shipment that gave an email to use if anything was wrong with the items. I contacted them and within 2 hours had a return email that told me that a new light would be shipped. Within one week it was delivered and it worked.All in all, spend more money on something better.

Just got this and did a set up to try it out. Pretty simple to set up like a 5 minutes. The only issue is that the power cord is to short. Is only 5 feet and 6 inches long. If your rising it above 5 feet you will have to get another power cord of 5 feet or more.

I don't know what others are talking about... I found these to be extremely well made. The base is adjustable to make the set more stable and they work without the sandbags I need on my other box lights. These are a very good value for the price.
