Man oh man, do these things smell! I've been told by others who highly recommend this product that the smell is due to how fresh they are. Either way, my new rescue pug/dachshund mix loves these. I went and got the bag of sticks from the mail, walked into my house like normal so my pup wouldn't suspect anything. He was across the room playing with a toy at the time of me opening the bag. I cut along the top with scissors so he didn't hear me tearing the bag open. As soon as the bag was open he came flying into the kitchen to see what the new smell was. I cut one of the sicks in half and tossed it back to his play area - he chased the stick as if his life depending on it; ears flopping and all. It took him about two hours to go through half of the stick before I decided to take it away because it was getting too small and I'm afraid he would have tried to swallow it. How much he loved that thing I'm sure he would have swallowed it at anytime - if he was able. The smell stayed on him for the rest of the day. I didn't want him near my face at all, and actually didn't want him that close to me. I could tell he was kind of sad about it, but he needs his alone time, anyways. We got our pup, Stout, from a rescue when he was 7 weeks old. He's now 12 weeks and such a bright, smart, funny, sweet little pup. When we first got him we were mixing his puppy food with some goat milk for the first couple of weeks - his stool was always leaving smears. After he got off the goat milk and got a little older, his stool started to harden and look normal. After playing with this stick, his stool became the mush that it was when we first got him. Not running at all, still has form, but is just a lot softer and smears again. I haven't given him one since - I'm going to give him another one tomorrow since his stool is starting to look better. They might just be too rich for his stomach and I'm sure he just needs to get used to them. They are the perfect little babysitter when you want to get something done without a hyper little puppy flying around the house with razor sharp teeth.

My dog is 12 lbs., and it takes him a long time to get through one, which is perfect. He needs the distraction, and each one lasts a long time. If you can get over what these actually are they are a fantastic treat for your dog. I have a one year old, 9.5kg female cockapoo and it takes her about 20mins of chewing to get through one of these. She goes at them with real gusto so I can confidently say that she enjoys them very much. They aren't cheap compared to other dog snacks on the market but I feel they are worth it since they're completely natural and a good way to occupy your dog when you need them to settle down and focus on something. I sometimes take on with me on a long car journey or to an evening at a (dog friendly) pub and they work a treat.

You can't get better than these. I have a pedigree mini pomeranian with a very sensitive stomach. He chomps through these which is great for his weight (lots of effort for few calories), teeth and they don't upset his stomach. He loves them as do any of his friends who manage to steal them.

I thought these sticks were a bit on the pricey side but wanted a nice treat for my dog. For my 4 year old boxer that lovely a good nibble, these sticks were irrestiable to him.
