HarperCollins Atlas of Bible History

I previously had the hardcover big atlas, but I recently got this concise one. I'm still getting familiar with it, but so far I like the updated version. I'm finding areas that I couldn't in the previous atlas, and I'm getting a better understanding of the bible. I like that it shows Jerusalem and the biblical areas around it in modern times as well. Overall a good book to get.

I was able to find almost all the locations I came across in the old and new testament. Plus a lot of other general info about those ancient times.

Great reference work, richly illustrated.

Get this in book form. I got it on my ereader and wish I had it in 8 x 11 or bigger. Great content, worth adding to anyone's library.

I teach an international Bible Study to students who have little or no Biblical background. I was hoping these maps would add context to my classes. Unfortunately, the maps are very small in the Kindle edition.For example, I have PC with a monitor that is 23.5" wide. The map for Abraham's journey from to Haran is only 6.5x4.25" or 27.7% of the screen width. (This is using full-screen mode with the largest font and smallest margins.) I can barely read the names on it.Generally, good Kindle books will make larger versions of the images so that you can zoom in & see them. That is not the case with this book.If I do a screenshot & enlarge it, then the image is very pixelated and not worth showing to my students.I’m VERY DISAPPOINTED in this product & don’t recommend the Kindle version at all!!

This atlas is a great summary of the current consensus of knowledge of Biblical archeaology and Biblical events. It cross-checks what's recounted in the Bible with inscriptions and archaeological evidence from non-Biblical sources, which I find especially fascinating. The maps and other illustrations are excellent -- every page is illustrated.

this is a good book. I was wanting something just like it recently and was thrilled to find it. It fills in gaps in understanding of time, people and places

This Atlas has proved its worth in a matter of weeks. I was surprised at the amount of information I didn`t know.

Not so much!
