Teen Daughter approved
These are great strings. Not a ton of ball end choices that I've seen so we've settled on these and are very satisfied. My daughter has an Ovation that requires the ball end. She practices daily and does a 2-3 hour set with her band about once per month. The last pair was still pretty strong after 6 months, but I insisted she change. She was hesitant, but once I got them on she saw the additional brightness you get with new strings. That is to say, these strings will have good sound for much longer than you will likely elect to keep them. Thumbs up.

Nice and Playable
I have these on a 2010 Collings MT2 Mandola that I got recently. That was what was on the instrument when I got it, so I replaced them with the same brand and gauge. It has an amazing sound with these strings, but I would think that a less responsive instrument may need mediums.

D'Addario goes above and beyond
I had a slight issue with these (missing a string), and contacted D'Addario. They were extremely helpful, and alleviated the problem. They in fact went above an beyond, and the strings are simply amazing, even on a short scale tenor banjo. So, one can only imagine what they would sound like on a mandola.

Good sound, lasts well
These are quality strings which bring a good and well balanced sound to my mando. I play every day, as I’m in three ensembles, and they last very well. Maybe a tiny amount of improvement or life could be had by strings costing two or three times more, but in my experience, nothing beats these for price/performance/longevity! Recommended!

Good general purpose strings
The choice of ball end strings is limited so these are excellent if you want long life and typical mandolin tone.

Pleased With these
I am rather pleased with these. They have a rich and pleasant sound, despite my playing. I see no reason to consider other brands. Just as an aside you can buy Bouzouki strings for about half the cost but don't. My Mandola came with Bouzouki strings and I bent every single note and it sounded awful, they are just not thick enough.
