The real charm of this book stand is the way it levels to suit your needs and wants.By any means this stand does not skid due to the rubber pads at the bottom and I have used it for light weight and heavy weight books,even technological items as I do with my tablet.In my workstation its mostly for books or any paper based material and at times I do use it as a tablet stand (both at home or at work) and it works amazingly well. I also own a mini lamp that helps me read at night if I please and it has been a really good experience for me so far.To take it to work,I fold it up and it fits well in my bag next to my other heavy items.Since its metal,it durable for what its use for and the color does not seem to rust off so far due to my time using it so I would say it would last me a very long time.

I have a small tv (without the stand) that I have in my room for putting in dvd walking tapes on while I still watch my big tv. (This makes walking less of a chore as the time flies by.) The tv has to be tilted up toward me so I can glance down at it and see where they are on the walking program and this holds the tv nicely. Strong enough to hold the weight of the tv

A bit flimsy and cheap (i.e. Chinese manufacturing). The prominent sticker on the front was difficult to remove and left a large sticky area (forcing me to buy another product to address that issue). I wouldn’t buy it again and there are much better products on the market.

Works great to hold up our son tablet for school.

I needed this for a large thick notebook binder and this did not work for that at all. I’m sure it would be fine for something that is lightweight and stays open in its on.

I bought a set of these to hold my paperback novels while I read. Total waste of money. Bought a set so my wife could have one to hold her cookbook while cooking. She hasn't tried that yet. It's very flimsy and just too light to hld paperback books open.

Stands were too weak.
