I have always enjoyed reading books about developing skills needed to survive in our world. This great book provides an overview of vital and practical information every young (or old) man can use to survive in our world. In fact, it lists 367 skills men should master. A very small sample of some of the tips in this comprehensive book includes the following: How to run a marathon, how to play poker, building a social network, how to buy a used car, how to throw a punch, what to do if you are being followed, how to behave in a restaurant, should you rent or buy, how to prepare for a job interview, how to get a good workout using dumbbells and hundreds of other great tips and advice. This 325 page book is organized into six sections. Section one titled Brand: Me, covers first impressions, dressing well and other related information. The second section, Necessities, deals with home economics, feathering your nest and car companion. The third section explains work issues such as getting a job, how to act on the job, the uniform and when business meets pleasure. Basic skills such as repairs, fix-ups, manly arts, games, gambling, eating out and other interesting tips are covered in section four. Section five provides information on the Birds and Bees issues like foreplay, getting serious and other factors. The final section, Trouble, explains what to do on the road, fisticuffs, handcuffs, lost and found. In conclusion, this is a book every father should probably give to his son to read. And a woman I do everything I possibly can to become as independent as possible and when I saw this book on Clarence a book 1,000,000. I didn’t buy it at a time, but I did go a long period of time with warning to buy it and I’ve been recommending it to a lot of males that I’ve encountered in life One day I purchased it and it has changed my life. I don’t like the fact that it specifically is advertised toward men, but it does have a lot of independent things to teach you that I think everyone should take the opportunity to read.

I'd originally bought this for my nephew (13yrs) but found some of the content to be a little out of his age bracket. So I instead gifted it to a tad older male friend. I found it interesting to browse through myself and likely would have read it all the way through if I weren't gifting it. Though I did find some of the advice to be either too general or only usable and very specific situations, it is still a neat book that covers a wide range of topics. I think it's a fun gift for someone in their late teens.

Although the title of this book Man Up suggests that it's only for young adult men I found many useful suggestions and advice. Rather than nag this young man I felt that it would be better if he discovered all these positive things to do on his own.

Gave this book to two young men in their early 20's - stocking stuffers. At first they looked at me and said "Mom, really?" and then they realized what it was and said "Mom, thanks!". This is a great book filled with ideas and suggestions for the young man in today's world...or the seasoned man who may have missed a thing or two! A winner!

Ok, so. First, this book is like over a dozen years old. Second, if this book is any sort of revelation for you, then a) you need to read more “how to be a man” books and b) bravo for realizing that you need to man up. I think though that anyone older than a millennial will see this book as obvious common sense and skills that you learned probably early on or is intuitive. Again though, in all seriousness, if you’re trying to read this because you DO want to be more of a man, bravo for wanting to do so. For me, this book reassures me that I’m indeed a manly man. Haha! If you’re a millennial or younger, I highly recommend this book. If you’re gen x and older, this is a waste of time.

Just awesome! So awesome! Purchased it for my teenage brother and bought one for myself since it does got great advices! Even gave it to read to my male friend, he is not into such books and advices in general, but he liked it and found helpful! I compared it to others book that got the same content and idea behind, but nope. This one does its' job so far batter than others. It is great book of small advices for people in general. Great as a starting point in collecting books with advices for men(since there are other books with advices for males) I wish I could find something like this for females, but not too old-fashioned (even though it might be helpful to read some old-fashioned advices). Anyway. Love it! Keep it to myself as reference book for advices in general =)

Im using my boyfriends account but I bought this and we read through it everyday. As a female I also enjoy the formalities and etiquette gestures and I learn more about my partner and the world of guy things. Its a fun book we both enjoy reading at night as a bonding activity. One day when If I have a son Ill have more introspection of man gestures I've appreciated as the opposite sex and for my boyfriend he brushes up on things to teach his little brother.

Bought as a fun birthday present for my boyfriend who hates reading. He loved it and is now constantly telling me little hints and tips that he has read about. It is pretty well written and quite comical as well as useful. Brilliant little gift idea.

This book is chock-full of straight - forward advice and directions for any man to make use of. After paging through the book several times, I only regret that I did not get one when I had my graduation and my initial steps into independence and adulthood. Highly recommended for any man young or old.

Purchased as a stocking filler. Novel.
