This casting device was easy to hook up and picked up signal at a fair good distance. Sound and picture was outstanding Set up was super simple.

I purchased this device because the description said that it works without local WiFi. Unfortunately it will not allow streaming of any videos that I was able to find through the devices WiFi. After 15 minutes the device was incredibly hot to the touch. Audio only seems to cast fine. It sort of works without local local WiFi but there is a significant lag between the audio and video. It does require an external USB power supply so if you’re going to buy this you’ll want to purchase a USB extension cord for setup.

I am using this with an older Toshiba tv/monitor that doesn't seem to have miracast. I am using it mostly to play videos and movies from my Samsung galaxy tab active5. It seems a bit finicky at times. For instance it might not appear as available unless you unplug and plug it back in. I'm not sure all of the situations one might use it in. I had an older roku that doesn't allow me to connect to the TV but this works for what I am looking for and the price was right. I'm giving 4 stats just because it is a bit temperamental. I will check back after I have some time using it.

I bought this to replace the discontinued MS display adapter, and have found it to be a spotty replacement. I'm using it in a classroom to cast my laptop screen to the projector. It works OK, but often shows brief visual static when I scroll my laptop screen. I also play music through the classroom speakers from my laptop, and it frequently just stops playing. When I try to reconnect the audio it won't do it. Other times it just freezes altogether, and I have to unplug it and reconnect, which is really disruptive when I have to stop in the middle of teaching.

Unable to connect this device to my network. I was able to open the device's settings page a few times. (each successive time was shorter & shorter) The settings would not save. Now I am unable to connect via the SSID / password at all. I am able to let Win10 connect it as a device and stream a monitor. It self disconnects after a while and I have to go through the process all over again. NOT SUPER CONVENIENT since I am pulling out my 70" TV in order to connect this. Also have to pitch it out every time to hit the dongle's reset button to change from apple to android/PC settings. This device seems to be well suited for only holding a meeting where you need a wireless monitor across the room. I thought I had a winner, but alas I do not! This item is now returned.

Great for casual screen mirroring, but setup could be easier.” I’ve been using this SmartSee Anycast wireless display adapter for a few weeks now to mirror my phone and laptop to the TV. When it works, the picture looks clear in 1080P, and it’s super handy for showing photos, videos, and presentations on a bigger screen. I like that it supports AirPlay, Miracast, and DLNA, so it connects with both my iPhone and Android devices without needing extra cables.

This does work, but it has some lag issues, and there is not many apps that work with this device. If you buy this product, it has a specific purpose in mind for its design, and the only way it can work smoothly is with an app that can connect an outside device to this "mirroring" device. And that's not available. It's just ridiculous to provide a product to the open public and not ensure its flawless functionality.

I love this product, I had to install the app because my phone is older and doesn't have mirroring, now I can even cast to TVs that have casting options without this casting device, but this casting device is cheap small and doesn't listen to the household lol, I highly recommend it to upgrade any TV to a smart TV.

Great little product to work with iPhone screen mirroring. I connect this to my mii projector and it works great.

Les comento lo siguiente: si sirve para lo que dice que sirve, si hay dudas al inicio y pide una contraseña para conectarse al Wifii la contraseña es la que aparece arriba: 12345…. Es esa la contraseña, la ponen aúnque les aparezca sin internet se van después a duplicar pantalla y se duplica, pero si te desconectas del Wiffi se desconecta del duplicado así que: si la pensabas usar con internet no se va a poder, a menos que uses los datos de tu celular, por qué para conectarte es por el Wiffi y obviamente tienes que desconectarte de tu red o usar el cable del internet directamente a tu computadora (yo tengo ecosistema IOS así que en otros aparatos desconozco) también algo que noté es que se calienta el aparatito al estar conectado en el proyector, así que no sé si esto afecte con el tiempo. Y sobre la proyección, si funciona bien, si te alejas un poco puede retardarse pero si estás cercas la imagen coincide al tiempo, si quieres proyectar para clases está súper genial, si ya tienes los videos en tu tablet o compu está súper genial, o si lo que vas a hacer no ocupa internet está súper genial para proyectar, para mí funciona bien, ya que en la mayoría de escuelas no hay internet, y uno tiene que descargar los videos o información con anticipación así que para eso si sirve, eso si revisa la compatibilidad por qué en el manual, decía que no es compatible con celulares Motorola y google pixel, también algunas restricciones de Apps, por el duplicado de pantalla como Netflix por ejemplo, así que antes de comprarlo infórmate bien, en mi caso me sirvió de maravilla para lo que lo usaré 🙌🏻
