Can it cut through tape? are the hold punchers sharp? does it have college rules paper hole distances?

I have a Swingline hole punch that looks just like this one, but I bought it many years ago - long before there ever was an Amazon.com. It has served me well, it is sturdy, strong, adjustable (can be adjusted to cut 3 holes for college ruled paper as well as for 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" hole paper for the mini 3 ring binders. After decades of use it looks and performs as good as new. That being said I've no idea if the newer versions are as well made as my 40 plus year old Swingline is.

Do the outer punches move or the center? What's the closest spacing you can punch 3 holes with? Thanks.

Actually, all three punches move into pre-set positions, but if you don't need to set them at the center of the punch, you can get them as close to each other as 1.5 inches. There are 11 pre-set positions total, all in an 8.5 inch range.

How do I remove the green plastic?

Press the puncher like you operate it then the green plastic out by hand.
