A great old action toy brought up to date, and it's hands on fun
I bought this so that I could hopefully enjoy my grand children when they visit and not have to watch them on the computer with their video games. I wanted interaction with them and had bought the first Electronic Battleship years ago when my now grown children were young. we had so much fun with it, I took a chance and boy have we had a great time. The kids love it . My youngest Grand child is 5 and oldest is 16, We have all had a great time, It makes noise great action sounds better than the original we wore out years ago, even makes you think and you can actually talk with each other while you enjoy action and a bit of strategy... The family is at the table and not at the Tube or computer, laughing together....It's a 80's feeling toy with a current feeling of today that they could relate to. . The kids all love it, and so does Grandpa and Grandma. We have a standing order, These Grand parents don't babysit or have our kids over to visit and then lose them to todays approach to fun via computer games. We all play together and it's just good old fashioned fun ....

Nostalgia buy
My ex wife asked for this for Christmas one year. It was great nostalgia, but not as fun as she remembered.

Missing pieces
I reviewed all info before purchasing i was under the impression the game was in new condition not used and missing pieces. I didn't receive the 3 blue or 3 red aircrafts, also should have 10 ships and it has 6.. I didn't count out 200 white pegs and 100 blue and 50 red but if other pieces are missing im sire there's some pegs missing as well. I bought this a Christmas present for someone who begged for the game and now it cannot be given as a gift until we have the complete set.

Electronic Battleship Advanced Mission: Awesome
I purchased the Electronic Battleship Advanced Mission for my 7 year old grandson for Christmas. The game is so much fun. During the Christmas holidays we played about 5 times. He is enjoying it very much. Quite impressed with the durability and substantiality of this product - along with how the game opens and closes and how the game can be played in a flat position or raised position. The voice and sounds are incredible.....though quite loud. I wish there was a volume control. We tried to play Electronic Battleship in the TV room, but it disturbed others who were trying to listen to the TV. Again, great game and I can hardly wait to visit my grandson in Georgia and play it again with him.

Advanced Mission could be even better..........
I bought this game for my daughter. She has the old version but cheated too much. Of course I cheated too. Believe me, you would never find my patrol boat. I'd just keep moving it around. Advance Mission puts an end to that. You have to program in your coordinates so it's impossible to cheat. This is a good thing. Advanced Mission has four different games to be played: The Classic Mission - each player gets one shot apiece regardless of hit or miss. The Salvo Mission - each player gets one shot for every ship left unsunk. I really like this one. The Bonus Mission - each player gets one shot unless they score a hit in which case they can continue on the same turn until they miss. The Advanced Mission - each ship has special weapons and you have two recon planes, however if you use the recon planes I will defeat you. IMO the recon planes are a bit too much. Deploying them counts as a turn and you don't get to fire a weapon. I never deploy my recon planes. I have never lost, yet. Another thing that sets this game apart is the ability to play the computer. You don't even need any friends to have a good old fashioned war at sea. There are also 3 different skill levels to choose from. ... Of course the game now has sound. You hear the weapons being fired and the explosions from hits. All that being said I still see room for improvement. On the old battleship you could adjust the top grid for better visibility, much like you would a laptop. On Advanced Mission the top grid is fixed and depending on the lighting can be hard to see. Unless you are sitting at eye level with direct lighting you will inevitably place a peg in the wrong grid resulting in frustration and possibly a failed mission. The makers of Advanced Mission should have gone a step further by lighting the grids, at least the top grid. It wouldn't take much to accomplish. It would look really cool and certainly be easier on the eyeballs. The other thing is the volume, which is relatively low... Bottomline is it's a fine game but with a few improvements it would really be something.

Early failure
Great game. But it is not well made. After only a few minutes of playing the game it would turn off and you lost everything and had to start over. I suspect a short in the on/off switch. Let you know how the return goes. Could only get a refund, no replacement was offered. Return was very simple but when I went to order a replacement the price had doubled. Now I know why Amazon would only refund my money and not replace the game. Very disappointed in amazon for this transaction. Not very customer oriented.

Very exciting to play!
At first, I hesitated purchasing the electronic edition of Battleship which cost $40 over the traditional one for $15. I am so glad I purchased it! I have 4 children, 3 of which are old enough to play and understand the game. They play for hours, with each winner playing the next person!Definitely worth the money, and a great gift if you can put aside the actual battling aspect of the game!

Game was used and missing many pieces
With this game behind retro I knew something would be off. Like the box being ripped or aged and I didn't expect it to be missing pieces. Three were supposed to be tiny aircraft that land on each ship and ALL of those were missing. So, I can't play the game the way it was intended. Save your money.
