I had seen Kalimbas on tv, but never "In the flesh" and my expectations were not so high. However, I was delighted to find that this is very well made and finished, to a standard befitting a professional instrument. The quality of the woodwork is faultless, the finish smooth and lustrous. The tone is much better than I expected, rich and full sounding. You can not have missed the "Mouth" pattern beneath the front soundhole, I was expecting that to be merely painted on, but no, it is inlaid! The accompanying material is also of a high standard, the tuning hammer, cleaning cloth, hard case and manual. For most people, I expect the Kalimba is a new instrument and the manual gives a very good grounding on playing, care and adjusting tuning. Despite resembling a teddy bear, this is not a toy. For a young teen or older it would be a great gift, but probably not for anyone younger. It is a fully-fledged musical instrument and deserves to be treated as such. In short, I consider this to be an exceptional entry into the world of the Kalimba!

I bought this hoping to learn something new earlier this year, and this fit the bill. It comes with a lot of stuff! Obviously the instrument itself, which is made of pretty thick wood and a cute inlay, a carrying case, which feels like it was meant for an expensive pair of headphones and fits this Kalimba perfectly, a tuning hammer which is easy to use, and even 2 sets of note stickers for the keys! One is just red and green decals and the other is your note numbers and letters! All you have to do to play it is pluck down with your fingernail, and it makes a note! If you're looking to learn a new instrument, this kalimba is the one to get! My only gripe is that I didn't buy two so my daughter can stop stealing mine!

Very nice sound and packaging. But I think it came with a key a bit higher than others, but it works and sounds at it should.

Not owned a Kalimba before but this is a wonderful little instrument for both children and adults. Great fun to learn and does not take up a lot of room. It is beautifully made with a superb finish. Very tactile. The stainless steel tines are smooth, no sharp edges. Being solid wood humidity has to be considered. This has been done with the inclusion of a very nicely designed carrying case. The tines are well marked with letters and numbers. A tuning hammer, cleaning cloth and self adhesive coloured strips are also included in the price. There are hours of fun to be had with this instrument. And the price is amazing for something of this quality. At present there are not many Kalimba music books available. Perhaps this will change and there will be more variety of music books to buy soon, as I am sure there will be a lot more people playing the Kalimba in the future. Highly recommended.

I’ve wanted a Kalimba for years and was lucky enough to get this one on Amazon Warehouse deal. I’m very particular when it comes to quality and I research on Google and YouTube reviews for many hours to find the right product and maker. Aklot were mentioned favourably and I see why, now that I have one of their fine instruments in my hands. It’s of the very highest standard of build quality and comparable with my Taylor acoustic guitar. Very comfortable to hold, easy and fun to play, and a breeze to tune up. Very cute bear shape too! 🐻 Made me smile when I opened the case - definitely a wow moment! 🥰 Videos and photos don’t do it justice but I do hope you’ll see and hear what a beauty this is, both aesthetically & tonally. Added bonus: the case doubles as a comfy cat headrest too 😻 Polly and Honey approve! and they find the music of the Aklot Bear Kalimba very relaxing. Big thumbs up from us all! Thank you, Aklot!

Kalimba itself feels really nice to play, compared to my first one strumming multiple tines is much easier. The tone is lovely and warm! The kalimba also comes with loads of extras. You have etched notes and numbers into the times with the option to use stickers instead. The hard case that comes with the kalimba feels really secure and the kalimba doesn’t move when in the case.

Nice instrument, nice case. Tines were slightly stiff on the higher notes but with a slight adjustment they're fine and just need pressing down harder. Didn't arrive tuned, of course, but it was easy to tune with the little tuning hammer provided. Overall a good little instrument and good value for the price.

Die Kalimba ist total toll. Sie klingt gut, auch schon bei Ankunft, falls nicht, kann sie nachgestimmt werden, dafür liegt ein Hammer bei. Außerdem gibt es Aufkleber, um die Noten darzustellen. An sich sind in der Zunge die Noten eingraviert. Was mir auffällt : mit Fingernägeln ist es nicht gut zu bespielen, da es dadurch einen metallenen Ton gibt, wenn die Fingernägel die Zungen berühren. Daher besser keine Fingernägel zum spielen haben. Zudem ist man so unkontrollierter, da man mehrere Zungen auf einmal berührt. Daher Fingernägel besser ab, für einen tollen Sound. Ich hab vorher nie Kalimba gespielt, aber schon nach einem Youtube Video habe ich einfache Songs spielen können, sogar evlis war dabei. Ich kann es nur empfehlen. Normalerweise würde ich wahrscheinlich in der Zeit etwas rauchen, aber so investiere ich meine Zeit neu und verliere mich im spielen. Ich bin also völlig abgelenkt. Und das als Erwachsene Person. Man stelle sich vor, wie man Kinder damit beschäftigen kann und diesen auch noch musikalisch tone näherbringt. Es ist echt spaßig, da man schnell ein erfolgserlebnis hat. Kaufempfehlung.

Très bel article de qualité Des sons apaisants. Envoie rapide Très facile pour apprendre la musique sans connaître le solfège. Au bout d’une heure et sans prof j’ai déjà joué un air. De nombreux Tuto sur YouTube. J’adore !!!! Ja vais en acheter d’autre pour mon frère et mon neveu (9 ans) qui ont craqué aussi.

Dochter wilde dit als kadootje voor het behalen van haar eindexamen en is er erg blij mee. Zelf had ik nog niet eerder van de kalimba gehoord. De klanken die eruit komen doen me denken aan een mix van elfen muziek (in een sprookjesachtig bos vol met mos en diertjes) en de muziek die je hoort bij een ijscokar. Vreemde combi, ik weet het 😄🥴 De set komt met een toetsen afstemmer, een poetsdoekje, een beschrijving met daarin muzieknoten en stickers voor op de toetsen om het oefenen makkelijker te maken. Het is niet moeilijk te leren; wel moet je geduld hebben. Eenmaal onder de knie klinkt het geweldig rustgevend. Mijn dochter geeft aan hiermee te kunnen ontstressen na een raar examen jaar. We zijn inmiddels hier in huis al fan van de kalimba geworden 🎊 Nu nog even opzoek naar elfen oren en vleugels 😉
