Briggs & Stratton 44S977-0032-G1 25 GHP Vertical Shaft Engine, Black

I replaced my 22 HP Intek engine with this. Direct replacement, everything fits and connects easily. I did tap the mounting holes before I installed the engine, I think that makes it easier to get the bolts started. Very easy to change the engine on my Husqvarna lawn tractor. 3 more horses and it runs great now.

This engine has been an absolute work horse for me. I mounted it on a swisher trail mower and I put it through its paces over the last couple of mowing seasons. It has yet to let me down. Worth every penny. I had to alter the pull behind mower a bit for the new engine but once that was done it bolted right up and fired up pretty much instantly. If needing a new mower engine you can’t go wrong.

Works better than anticipated. Unfortunately during the the transportation part. Someone turned the box on it's side and the oil ran out of the motor onto the box, but it still works.

Great so far. I replaced the engine on my Scag Freedom Z in about 1 hr. Old engine was 2007 S&B 26hp with 840 hrs. All plugs and wires matched perfectly.

I purchased this one year ago and use it a few times a week for our stable animal clean ups and cutting grass. The installation went in fine with a little help from my Grandson to lift it onto the frame of my GD LA120 which I have had for 17. I recently replaced all the wheels, tires, belts, blades and steering mechanism, so I decided to go for this upgrade instead of buying a new tractor. My original BS 21hp gave me 860 hours of life before freezing up and giving up the ghost. I was very careful in ordering as I wanted to make sure I had the correct shaft size and everything would fit. The fuel line needed to be extended, other than that I don't recall having an issue with the installation. I have about 40 hours on it in AZ dry heat so very happy since it saved me about $2k if I bought new.

great swap for the smaller engines, this one is far superior and stonger. makes cutting grass quick and easy.not to mention, all my neighbors being jealous of how it runs now. yee haaw

No good. After 2-3 uses gas flooded the entire engine and hydro locked.. this happened about 15 days after return window and unable to contact seller through Amazon. Briggs & Stratton's warranty claim here is essentially unreachable. The point you to your local dealer - which only deals with engines bought directly from them. So you are buying at your own peril here.

Great engine 5 more horsepower on my z246 made a big difference. No more full throttle wearing the engine out!
