2002 Honda Accord EX 2.3. non-ulev Replaced an aftermarket thermostat I had previously installed in my Accord. Aftermarket thermostat must have gotten hung open recently as the cold weather is caused the car to take forever to warm up. Ive replaced lots of old or failed components on the car with oem parts as oem is built better and lasts alot longer than any parts store brand aftermarket parts. OEM is definitely the way to go.

Replaced a generic version when 2003 Civic engine was overheating, but no heat was coming out of interior vents. OEM parts are always worth the extra few dollars, especially for Hondas.The old thermostat was stuck closed, not allowing coolant to circulate from engine to radiator. Tips: 1) Install the rubber gasket with the notch directly over the jiggle pin. 2) the two rubber "nubs" on the gasket go on the spring side of the thermostat and will fit into slots on the thermostat housing when you install. When properly fitted, the jiggle pin is at 12 o'clock. 3) once thermostat is installed and the bolts are tightened, check all your radiator hoses for leaks and tighten all hose clamps 4) start engine cold with radiator cap off. Add 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water a little at a time until radiator is full. 5) replace radiator cap 6) when engine reaches operating temperature, turn on your heat to ensure that the hot coolant from the engine is circulating through the radiator and the heater core. 7) There are many YouTube videos that will show you how to do this simple repair.

The first Honda thermostat lasted 22 years! I decided to spend an extra $10 to get an OEM replacement over some of the other brands. It's hard to beat Honda quality, just ask my 2002 Honda Accord! This thermostat will no doubt outlast the car; the first I ever bought for my daughter. It's my favorite to drive, so I kept it long after she moved on to bigger and better. While I don't plan on the car being around another 22 years, I also know that the new thermostat will never fail, unlike many of the more inexpensive brands. Why have a day or a trip interrupted over $10?! Buy this Honda OEM part instead!

El produto vino sellado y con la etiqueta de Honda, todo en regla. Se lo coloqué a un Civic lx 2002 y desde el principio la mejoría fue visible. Voy a esperar un tiempo a ver qué tal sale con el tiempo.

This parts are the original Honda thermostat and gasket for 2000 Civic EX. This are the exact parts that was originaly installed in my 2000 civic. the other good news is that the price is better than that of the same parts from the dealer. In case any of you need this particular parts for your car I am recommending this for a good price. I just give 4 star because it didn't arrive on time as it should be.
