Absolutely delighted with this item. The main thing is to water twice a day but before each watering take the bottom tray and put it on the top. In this way the sprouts grow at the same rate. If you don't do this then the sprouts in the top tray will not be so advanced.

This sprouter works really really well, when used as directed. Big seeds sprout, little seeds sprout, and it couldn't be easier to use!

Sadly not quite what I thought it was as the root system does not go through to the lower level.

I am extremely disappointed in this sprouter. I've been sprouting for years and decided to buy this expensive sprouter as a treat. But it doesn't drain properly. Three of the four trays half drain, leaving a ring of water around the outside of each tray which the seeds sit in for hours. The fourth tray barely drains at all; SEVEN HOURS after sprinking the seeds with water they are still swimming. This means the seeds cannot be spread across the trays evenly as they are literally floating around. This product is literally not fit for purpose and I am returning it and buying more of the cheap and cheerful ones which work brilliantly...

Tried many sprouters and this is the best by far. Great design, easy to use and clean and great water system. A must buy for all sprouters!

I hesitated about purchasing this seed sprouter having read a couple of the reviews but decided go ahead. I am delighted that I did so! It is well made and following the instructions in the accompanying booklet it works beautifully. I have no hesitation in recommending the product..

This product over exceeded my expectations, and has provided me with lots of sprouted seeds in a very short space of time.

Completely agree with all comments about size of holes. I purchased mine to mainly sprout broccoli seeds. The first time was fairly successful as I only tried a very small batch. Then next three attempts I noticed a bad smell and at first thought this was normal and kept trying to unsuccessfully to wash it out. Finally I realised that the broccoli seeds were the perfect size to block the holes, Howe er careful you are, leading to poor drainage and rotting sprout seeds. As I want to continue I have just increased the size of all of the holes to improve drainage. Hopefully that will resolve the problem. Note to manufacturers- if you made the holes narrow slots instead of holes the seeds wouldn’t block. I know this is not ideal situation for most users.

The amount of included seeds goes further than I expected, so that was a nice bonus! Otherwise it's pretty much a basic plastic countertop irrigation system, that's easier to use than trying to grow sprouts in a jar and less messy than constantly needing a substrate or soil to grow sprouts in. I wish it was truly dishwasher safe though, as it ssys it can't be heat dried.

I bought this set of stacking trays for growing sprouts in 2018. I've been using it consistently since then. It's important to follow the directions -- the user manual is a link on the product page. Water will not fully drain sometimes from the trays the first couple of days -- this is by design. Not a flaw!! Once the seeds start to sprout, the trays will fully drain. Also be sure to rotate trays, water a couple times a day, always drain the bottom reservoir before watering, and don't overcrowd seeds. Use exactly 2 cups of water when watering -- if you use too much water, it will leak all over. If instructions are followed, this tray system works like a dream. I have never had an issue with mold. Not once. If seeds get stuck in drain holes, a pin or toothpick and some running water takes care of it. Buy quality sprouting seed, and don't let your seed get too old. Soak seeds first, per instructions. Bad germination rates are not the fault of the trays -- old/low quality seed, not following instructions, etc. This tray system will sprout larger seeds and smaller -- I've tried many kinds over the years and never had an issue. Keep the trays clean, water frequently, and follow directions in the guide. I always rinse my sprouts in cold water once they are ready and store them in a ziploc or food container in the fridge with a damp paper towel. They keep up to 5 days. It's perfect -- harvest, refill trays, by the time I use up all the sprouts, I have new ones! I love mine! It is so easy to grow sprouts in this container. Comes with easy to understand directions and a small amount of seed to get started. Very simple to use. Easy to clean. Very very happy with purchase!!!! Worked perfectly for years!!
