Brilliant bidding, card collection game
Absolutely brilliant game, draw cards then bid for them using coins to try and get the cards you want. Plays very well.

Not bad, but could be better
Glad they brought out a multi-player version of this game (original was only for 2 players). However, the auction process in the game is wide of the original game-play and is not really needed in the multi-player version. A good game, which needs a version for more than 2 players, but this Rivals edition is not quite there.

Lost cities rivals adds just enough to the formula
The lost cities card game is an engrossing and wild two player game that is the definition of simplicity. Quick to teach, quick to play and great fun.Rivals adds a bidding system and simplifies the scoring for those who don't appreciate sums.The additions work well but it's the core mechanics of lost cities that still shine through the most.
