Perfect for the microwave! Love these plates, they’re sturdy, easy to clean, and work perfectly in the microwave. Plus, they don’t get hot to the touch!!

I love these plates, because they are plastic but NOT UGLY! Who knew it would be so hard to find microwaveable plastic plates that aren’t neon colors?! Most pretty plastic plates (or even just solid white ones) are some type of melamine material and are NOT microwave safe, but these ARE, which is why they are a great choice for daily family use.We microwave food on these plates almost daily and they have not warped or absorbed color from sauces, etc. They are a very nice soft-ish plastic (not like melamine) and are literally unbreakable.MAJOR DOWNSIDE: ordinary butter knives WILL leave cut marks on these plates. After awhile they get very marked up looking. I’ve accepted this as inevitable with any plastic plates and am willing to put up with it because they are NOT UGLY, and also very affordable. But, definitely expect them to look worse for wear if you cut the food on the plate. I try to cut things up before serving to help prolong their life.I will probably be rebuying these several times, simply because I can microwave them and also not have my retinas burned by neon pink in my kitchen drawer. Not to mention, I can also use themFor adults without shame. Five stars for all of this!

Much better than paper plates

I bought a set of 4 of these so many years ago. Somehow. with 5 kids, 3 went missing and I'm down to one. So glad to find them again! These bowls are lightweight yet very durable, stand up well to heat, microwave and fridge storage. A perfect size, great for snacks, or any other use for a small-medium bowl. Although I wouldn't recommend letting them sit with tomato food residue, they are stain resistant and very easy t clean. A space saver in the dishwasher.

These plastic plates are great for convenience, when you're not serving guests or eating a serious gourmet meal. They're meant for reheating food in the microwave, not for cooking per se. Too long in the microwave at high heat and it's possible they could catch fire. (Happened to me previously, last batch. I was able to divert disaster but simply turning off the microwave immediately and waiting to open it until the activity inside the oven had subsided.) They're plastic and cream color, but mine now have areas of reddish-brown discoloration from where the food contained salsa and / or ketchup. But given the strictly utilitarian use for this plate, the discoloration is not a big deal for me. They're cheap plates, and in several months I can always buy another set. (This is already my second purchase of these plates -- the first batch finally got too gnarly, especially after catching fire a few times.) Good thing is you can pop them in and out of the microwave to reheat and not burn your fingers taking them out.

Nordic Ware Polypropylene plates are used for Mirowave food items; however, I used the plates for multi purpose use. I use the plates to hold the actual food in a porcelain bowl to microwave covered with a clear Nordic Ware clear cover. I also use the plates to hold covered food in the refrigerator to be cooked later. I use the plates as a covered plate for my stone plate with food in case of over spillage.
