I purchased the Twidec/2Pcs 450V AC 50/60Hz Run Capacitor for my Lasco fan that wouldn't run up to speed. It took care of the issue and the fan runs like new. It can replace many capacitors of the same or lesser values, but it may have larger dimensions (1 1/2" x 1 11/16" x 1") than yours. If you have the room no problem. I had to cut a mounting tab off of the one I used and had just enough room to make it work. It appears to be good quality, and a great bargain on a pack of two.

When my 20 year old, 42" barrel drum fan quit, I thought it may be time to replace it. I paid $200 for it. Well, now they are well over $600. I researched on the web and found out it could be the run capacitor. I called the factory and they don't sell parts. so I looked here on Amazon. I got this inexpensive part ($7 for two) 10UF 450VAC and installed it. The fan works better than it ever had now and I have an extra part for the next time. Heck yea, brother!

I buy around a 1000 of these a year for my work. They do the job well but the reason for only 4 stars is I have seen many come back after only a few years with a yellowish waxy type substance leaking from them.

My ancient, but premium, Casa Blanca fan stopped working. I don't know when it was installed, but this fan was in our house in 1994 when we moved in. Now, it was dead. Although the controller at the wall still made the fan play some tones, the blades didn't spin. What to do? Trashing it was the chicken way out. So, I took down the fan and opened it up. As you can see in the picture, a polypropylene capacitor had exploded. First guess: the entire electronics might have fried. Second guess: Replace the capacitor, and see if that's the only thing needed to restore the fan's glory. Well, this capacitor had the same capacitance as the one removed, but with a higher voltage. That's good, but the replacement part was too big to fit in the same spot. I found an alternate location and hot glued it in place. I ran the wires to the PCB. This product worked great for me. My fan has a new life.

Not much to say about these caps. Installed just fine and brought my fan back to life. My original had a thin metal mounting surface and these were quite a bit thicker, but this style is all that is available for a reasonable price. They were cheap and worked just fine. No polarity on the wiring so installed simply with crimp connectors.

Didn't work for what I needed it for. But maybe it will someone else. Got it for a floor stand fan.
