Atkinson's Chick-O-Stick - Crunchy Peanut Butter Rolled in Toasted Coconut - Gluten Free, Kosher, Vegans, No Artificial Ingredients - 2 lb. Laydown Bag

I just bought a bag of these Chick-O-Stick candies for my mom who has enjoyed them for a very long time and who is currently recovering from hip replacement surgery. I ordered directly from the seller, AtkinsonsCandyCompany, who is the creator/manufacturer of this candy. I had read some reviews on here that spoke about how the bag they received contained expired candy. Or, how the thought that the recipe seemed to have changed for the product and it was not good and didn’t taste the same anymore. I’m glad to say, and this includes my mother as well, who has enjoyed the candy probably longer than I’ve been alive, haha. That, we both thought that this Chick-O-Stick candy tasted just the same as it always had tasted and was very fresh to boot. So, I can’t say conclusively that the company has not changed how this candy made. But as far as I can tell it’s the same as it always has been. It’s funny, too, I don’t really like coconut at all. Yet, the way it’s lightly spread on to the Chick-O-Sticks. Well, I never have seemed to mind eating coconut that way. The part I enjoy the most is the peanut butter taste, though. But, perhaps some customers who bought this thought the taste and recipe has changed because they bought their candy from a different seller other than the manufacturer like I did. Again, I can’t say for sure but it seemed to taste like it always did to me and I’m pretty sure my mom would have noticed even more than myself if it wasn’t the same candy. Still, it’s possible the recipe is not the same perhaps. But I just wanted to pass on my thoughts to others thinking about buying this. I don’t know how many other sellers are on this page selling the Chick-O-Sticks. Perhaps, though, just try to buy it from the manufacturer/seller, AtkinsonsCandyCompany, like I did, if you want to make sure you’re getting the same candy you remember. Overall I’m very pleased with my purchase and especially because my mom is enjoying it a lot while she is not feeling the best and recovering from her surgery. I think, along with some other stuff I bought for her, it’s helping to make a stressful time a little better for her I hope. I’m actually back today to buy two more bags of the candy just to have around and because my mom’s recovery at home will take a while. One last thing I really like from this purchase was how full the bag was and how many of the smaller candies it contained. It is a tad pricey I think. But, I still believe I got good value for my money. Like I said, I’m back to buy two more of them right after I finish this review. :P Oh, and, just for nostalgia’s sake I was wanting to get my mom the traditional longer sized Chick-O-Sticks like you usually find in gas stations and convenience stores. Yet, now I’m actually quite glad that I chose the smaller version of the candy because I just found it to be more manageable I believe for my mom to enjoy. While I also found that it’s a lot easier to take a handful or so from the large bag they came in and put them in a Ziploc bag or whatever. Again, I’m very satisfied my with purchase and will continue to buy them in the future for sure. Side Note: In one of the photos I’ve attached to my review the bag looks half empty. It didn’t come that way. The other half was just eaten already when I took my review photos, haha ;D.

Taste great but dry out fast so eat quick!

This is the the sixth time I have ordered this product and this last order appears to be a defective batch. All orders prior to this one have been as expected and consistent for quality, flavor and texture. I have added pictures to show the difference in appearance of the Atkinsons Chick-O-Sticks. The first picture is the latest order received on 10/19/2019 sold by First Choice Candy and fulfilled by Amazon. The bulk package is unopened and clearly shows the candy to be off colored from picture provided on First Choice Candy's sale page. The second picture shows a side by side comparison of the product wrapped to unwrapped. The candy on the left (purchased from another supplier on Amazon) is as expected and looks just like the picture on First Choice Candy's sale page. The candy on the right is what was received from First Choice Candy. The product is not as described and should not be sold in this condition since there is no description or disclaimer stating the differences in appearance from what is pictured on the sale page and what is actually sold and delivered from First Choice Candy. I did not sample it for flavor due to the differences of appearance, I couldn't trust the product solely based upon this and threw it away. Hopefully this is just a bad batch that slipped through the cracks but the seller should have noticed this as well and not allowed it to be distributed to unknowing consumers especially since this is not an isolated case. Many reviews of this item have stated the same thing making me want to question the products authenticity. I have contacted Amazon and since it was fulfilled by Amazon they took care of me and made it right as I knew they would. Hopefully with this review, the supplier will be more aware and increase its QC to not allow consumable products in this state to ship out to consumers.

Wasn’t the taste I was looking for. Wasn’t like the big size bars
