Crosby Slotted Pure Bone Bridge Pins with Abalone Dot Inlay for 6 & 12 String Acoustic Guitar

These are very nice for the price but quite big for the holes, I used a Dremel and a sharp knife to make them fit and they have made the sound quality ten times better.I have an Epiphone masterbilt excellente and for some reason all the hardware is bone but the pins were cheap plastic and affected the sound badly.Once I made them fit to size they are really easy to use. The abalone looks great and the bone causes a brightness in the tone of the sound, I will always use these in future

so it does say on the information if too big simply gently sandpaper to fit! i can say they look beautiful and i thought would enhance my lovely indie guitar . Unfortunately they are massively wider ( see photos) and after an hour of trying to sand one down it has made barely a scratch on the pegs. I shall have to put it down to experience and buy plastic ones.

Until I found these pins it seemed that nobody defined the dimensions of what they were selling. Most import is the taper angle. Both 5 degree and 3 degree have been used on guitars over theyears. Using the worng one could wreck the bridge or even the undlying sound board of the instrument.Crosby clearly show a full dimensioned drawing of the pins they are selling, which seem to be of excellent quality. The bone is pure white and odour free, and adds greatly to sustain and clarity in lower end guitars. It's important to replace the saddle too. Not only will id help clarity and sustain when used with the pinds, it will also hlep correct intonation more than a straigh plastic saddle. The nut is the last part of the equation, but the most difficult. Unless you are a good engineer and have been taight what to do, you should leave the nut to a Lutier.But fit these pins to your guitar, they are great, but ONLY if they are the correct angle for you.

These bridge pins look beautiful and well made. However, I tried to fit them to a Yamaha folk guitar, a Washburn Cumberland Jumbo and an Epiphone 200 and they didn't fit into the bridge holes of any of them. I fitted them into a drill one at a time and at a moderate speed and using 80 grit aluminium oxide paper got them turned to a suitable size. Total time for me was 40 minutes. They look good fitted to my Epiphone.

These bridge pins come in a little tin box with a sliding lid: the presentation is good.The pins themselves were visually a bit disappointing: the shell inlays are very small and with little lustre, colour or figuring. You may as well buy the cheaper plain ones.The pins were a little oversize for my guitar. I used an inexpensive diamond file to slim them down a bit. It’s much easier than using sandpaper and it took only a few minutes per pin. Then, lubricated with candle wax, they slotted in quite nicely.Do they work? I don’t know this guitar very well but there does seems to be some volume increase, possibly more clarity and definitely more sustain.

Recently bought an Epiphone j200. Brilliant guitar almost an exact copy of the Gibson j200 (who own Epiphone).All solid woods, bone nut & bone saddle BUT CHEAP PLASTIC BRIDGE PINS !!!!!!Bought these as a replacement. In my opinion they really work well. Sharper sound, longer sustain.I have ordered 2 more sets for my other guitars.Pricier than most other bridge pins but arrived in their own little tin (unnecessary) but nevertheless a nice touch.Cannot fault accuracy of workmanship. Ordered on line "Amazon Prime" arrived the same day.

These look and feel so much better than cheaper options - I really like them. They were a little tight on one of my guitars at first but I sanded them down gently and they slipped in perfectly. Better than being too loose, of course. I’ll certainly buy again, but they appear very durable and I can’t imagine having to replace them any time soon. Very happy with them.

Autre précision peu importe la guitare même Gibson faire régler le manche par un luthier voir les mécaniques prendre des schaller car entièrement métal assez chères mais boutons métal si dorée sont plaqué or auto bloquantes .Ensuite faire changer les deux sillets en os car en plastiques souvent. Les grandes marques n'y échappent pas ils mettent du plastique surtout Gibson Guild en os . Et les cordes marque Elixir ceci améliore vraiment le son en suivant ces indications seulement ....

Great products at afforable prices.These may or may not have to be modified to fit your slots but it gurantees a perfect fit.UPDATE: After 4 weeks of putting 12 of these along with a bone nut has transformed my 12 String Acoustic.The sustain is unreal!Not kidding, my guitar sounds way better with wicked sustain.AWESOME!!!I am a guitar repair dude and have put these on 4 client guitars and they freak out after getting their instrument hope and play.Crosby make me look good!

Terrific value for money. These are a genuinely great item, and come in their own little tin box. A fraction oversize for Yamaha acoustics, and could be sanded down to fit, but I went for a reamer on the bridge instead, and after half a dozen turns, they fit like a glove. A lot better than many of the other "Bone" bridge pins out there, so a couple of sets to fit my 12 string are on the way.

Got them for my Vintage Gemini Paul Brett Signature Baritone and the difference in sound was noticeable immediately. The guitars tone is amazing but I found the sustain was very short with the plastic bridge pins, making it quite dull at times , but thankfully not anymore! They also look and feel very well made and compliment the guitars look, 100% would recommend.

Bridge pins can be an essential addition to you Guitar. Of course on a poor quality guitar it may not improve much with a set of bone bridge pins, but it’s doesn’t mean that after a good setup that bridge pins wouldn’t help improve your guitar still. Having read through many reviews from various reviewers for various brands/sellers of bridge pins I decided to try this brand Crosby Audio. The most discussed facts about bridge pins were their dimensions, material and quality.Dimensions are something you may have to consider to be specific, but also dependent on the manufacturer. Many reviewers mentioned that the bridge pins either fit their guitar, didn’t or some didn’t fit exactly perfect. What you can know is that unless in the description the seller/brand indicates that the bridge pins are machine manufacture to exact specs that you should expect some possible variation to their size because these are likely handmade and not precision computer control manufactured so they won’t be perfectly all alike. You can see that their shape is not exact but as close as an individual could make them to be. So when you compare the dimensions listed and compare them to your guitars original bridge pin dimensions keep in mind they may be a good fit or not. That means they could be larger, smaller or just right like Goldilocks and the three bears. If they are larger or just right you should be fine because you can shape them smaller to fit your guitar. If they are smaller then you’ve got to use them with a different guitar or contact the seller for replacements.Material for this brand/seller is ox bone and when I opened the sealed paper envelope I received 6 bone bridge pins which were what I would describe as bone white color. I tapped them on each other and they made a solid clack which don’t sound plastic like. I liked the weight of them as they had heft for the actual size of each bridge pin and felt nice in my hands and between my fingers. Each of us are different and your experience and opinion may differ from mine, but for the most part they should feel substantial and of good quality. For those who at times may state for their experience (not specifically this brand/seller) but of some reviews I have read some have described they seemed like plastic. I don’t expect you to have that experience with this product, but you will have to state that if that’s what you get when you open up your package. I do not think that will be your experience based on the reviews I’ve read for this brand and seller.Quality is an area where one must take things with a reasonable grain of salt. Brands and sellers always try to represent their product with the best image they can provide on Amazon. With that in mind we should expect not to be expecting to get the best quality in color of the mother of pearl inset represented by the image this brand and seller uses. With that in mind you won’t get too disappointed when you open up your package. If you get something exact like the image used to sell this product you won the lottery. If you get something decent, shiny and with decent color but not spectacular like the image used to sell this product then you got what’s like the norm that most buyers will receive.This product price was middle of the road. I do not expect that much from low cost products nor do I expect the product to wow me. That would normally be a response I get when paying top dollar. Middle of the road prices you should expect good quality and sometimes maybe are surprised by how good the product is.To conclude this review I want to give you my impressions of the product in use past the physical looks. I install this set of bridge pins into my Epiphone Texan VS. this acoustic guitar was setup awhile ago which cost me $75. The setup I asked for was for a lower action as close to electric as possible while not having buzz anywhere along the higher registers. I’ve not had this guitar setup recently so that’s been like 7-9 years ago. I keep my guitar in its case and when possible try to keep it in the appropriate humidity range though I’m not paying attention to this as close as I should. As soon as I changed he bridge pins and started tuning the guitar I noticed the tone, resonance, sustain and clarity of the notes. This guitar has aged well and the recent humidity stabilization has helped with its sound. After completely tuning the guitar I played a few notes and chords and asked my son to listen. Since he has a keen ear being a musician who is intending to attend Frank Sinatra HS or LaGuardia HS as a Tuba player I can rely on him to critique on the sound of my guitar after changing the bridge pins. After he pulled his headphones to the side to listen to the guitar his eyes perked up as he heard the notes and chords. The resonance and sustain was much longer, the notes much clearer and the tone much richer. Volume did got up also a bit compared to my playing prior to changing in the new bridge pins. Of course your guitar might not get the same improvements mine got, but this also is personal opinion with this item which may differ for you. I’m planning to buy another set for my Yamaha and Fender guitars when I bring them in for a setup and hope to get a similar or reasonable improvement to those guitars also.
