Is the real seam allowance 1/4"?

Yes. Compare to any quilting ruler or to templates in pattern. Most Quilter’s I know use a “scant 1/4” seam allowance.

The description states 1/2" seam allowance...is that correct for these templates?

No. The seam allowance on each side is 1/4 inch.

Do you get 2 packages of templates? IF so why?

no i believe you will get one set. i believe it says number of items 1 item / set ... but it is weird that there is picture of 2 sets. for 100% clarity you should reach out to seller directly.

Are these clear or tan colored?

The back has a paper cover on it. When removed the template is clear acrylic.
