First impressions: A true premium phone. (Compatible with Fortnite "Wonder" promotion)
For some background, I initially had actually purchased the HONOR 20 Lite, drawn to it by the cross-promotion with Fortnite (for the "Wonder" outfit). It turned out that the Lite was not compatible with this promotion, and since I had already been considering the regular HONOR 20 anyway, I decided to return the Lite and upgrade to this instead (many thanks to Amazon for making the return such an easy process). Well, this, the HONOR 20, is indeed compatible with the Fortnite "Wonder" promotion, just as Huawei support told me. Great! Unfortunately, though, it's not compatible with many cell networks in the USA (which is where I am located), not least of which my own carrier (Verizon), so sadly I was unable to hold on to this one either. Ugh! Thanks to Amazon once again for making the return of this one easy as well. In any case, and despite all that, the regular HONOR 20 is definitely an upgrade over the HONOR 20 Lite, and it was an absolute joy to use for the brief period that I did have it. Anyway, while I cannot speak too much to any specific features due to my limited time with it, again, general impressions were all extremely good. The screen was beautiful, and the image was perfectly clear in all lighting (though I did not try it in direct sunlight). The heft and feel of the device is definitely premium, and in terms of pure aesthetics it's really beautiful, especially the back which is just an art piece in and of itself. I did not try to take many pictures, but to my memory they all looked great. Lastly, the operating system ran as smooth as butter. Not a single hiccup, slowdown, or issue of any kind. Also, the fingerprint reader. It is SO cool. It's literally embedded into the power button on the right side, so it's extremely intuitive to use, and it was very easy to set up. I never had so much fun just turning on a phone before, not since the old flip phones and slide phones. I can't speak to the technical ability of the reader (e.g. how easily, if at all, it can be fooled) but it worked exactly as I would have expected it to. I did have to be careful not to place my finger on the button if I meant to pick up the phone but not unlock it, though, so there's that. By the way, this does not have a headphone jack, but it actually includes a pair of headphones that plug in via USB-C, which is pretty cool! It also includes an adapter for regular headphones too, so you're set either way... well, so long as you have a full battery that is, though there are adapters that can be purchased separately which allow you to both charge & have headphones plugged in at the same time. In summary, if you are looking for a premium device, then as far as I can tell this is definitely a good place to start looking. But please bear in mind that I spent an extremely short amount of time with this device, and there are many factors to consider that I did not talk about (such as the current issues between Huawei and Google, the inability as of this writing to have the phone "unlocked" for rooting, etc.) that you may wish to look into more before making a final decision, especially considering the cost. Thanks for reading, and I hope this was helpful!

Super fast finger print reader and excellent value
I'm amazed with this phone. After doing an enormous amount of research for a replacement to my broken pixel 3XL, I settled in the honor 20. I wanted a low cost phone that was nice to use and had a great screen. Best things about this phone are the amazing finger print reader which is just unbelievably fast and reliable and the very strong battery life. The screen is a better size than the pixel 3xl also with it being slimmer but longer. For the price it's excellent value and after a lifetime of buying iphones and recently Google pixels I don't think I'll go back to either brand after seeing what such little money can buy.

Great phone for the money
I bought this phone for use as my work number and I am very impressed. The battery life is excellent and the screen is generally what you would expect for a phone in this price range. The camera is actually surprisingly good for a phone in this price range. I sometimes find the UI is a little laggy, especially just after startup, but this is of no great cause for concern. Generally the responsiveness is good. The phone is well made, although I suspect the screen would scratch easily and therefore I have a cover installed. Dual SIM is a very nice feature, something which you don't get on many higher priced phones. You can also expand the storage via SD card. If you're looking for a cheap Android phone then I would highly recommend the Honor 7S.

A flagship for the budget high end market
This is a brilliant phone. The tech inside will be very competitive with almost all 2019 high end smartphones including those from Samsung, Apple, OnePlus etc. This phone is essentially a more cost friendly version of the hauwei P30, with some welcome additions (macro lens camera) and some justifiable removals (e.g. Wireless charging, slightly lower quality lens on the wide) but also many features stay with the most impressive being the same chipset. The kirin 980 (a huge improvement over the 970) scores a benchmark (AntuAntu) score of over 300,000 which beyond that point, software does not utilise the additional power and it will go pretty much unnoticed. The phone feels premium in your hand, as if you were holding something which cost double the price it did. My only contention with the phone is the positioning of the fingerprint sensor. whilst it is very comfortable to use when handling the phone, it also is an annoyance when doing ear-speaker phone calls as my thumb keeps hitting the fingerprint sensor turning on the screen and unlocking the phone for my face to randomly click icons: ending phone calls, loading apps, clicking on links, Turing on the torch (common), and phoning anyone in your phone book. it is for this reason I gave the sensor a 4/5. However it must be said the sensor is very rapid and will idenitfy your print within milliseconds. This for me does not spoil the phone at all, I just had to change the way I hold it slightly, but habits die hard. Overall, if you have a slightly older phone from 2017 or before and don't want to empty your entire pocket then this will be an upgrade from any phone released in or before 2017.
