Do the cut edges need to be stitched or could it be left raw

They can be left raw. It does fray a little but nothing to worry about. I made a canopy and left the edges raw through the middle seam

Which side should be the outer side on garden cushion covers?

I used the shinier side as the outer side, has slightly raised self pattern, also need to cut pieces the same way.

Which sewing machine needle, waterproof thread and zips can I use with this. Its for a boat?

For this particular material I just used my ordinary needle, it went through 4 layers easily.

Good quality

Had a trim made up for our electric awing as the last one had mould spots on it. Not fitted yet. So not sure how it will wear. Saying that it’s a strong material and thickness it should be spot on. Great value.

I purchased 2mtrs for my patio chairs. Happy to say this material is of a high quality. It is been treated for outdoor use. Please note using the right treated thread and use the right needle size for the thickness of your work is very important. Having completed my patio seat covers and cushion backs. I found it very easy to use. Love the thickness of this fabric. I love the colours that I purchased. Really happy to purchase from this seller again.
