Fuhr 856 Type 8 2 Pin Bolts 2 Rollers 30mm BacksetA - Spindle to Key: 92mm B - Backset: 30mm C - Op Type: Lever/Lever D - Locking Points: 2 pinbolts 2 rollers E - Face Plate Dim: 16mm The Overall length of the lock faceplate shown (OL: in attatched detailed dimensions file) is simply trimmed down at the ends with a hacksaw to suit the length of your own personal door.What You Will Receive:1 X Full length locking mechanism Review: Good quality replacement lock, but measure carefully - I got it wrong! - Good kit making a fine replacement for a broken door lock mechanism. However, a word of warning, make sure you measure your old fitting correctly as I got it wrong. I measured the backset from the middle of the door handle spindle or lock orifice to the edge of the door itself - Wrong! The backset is measured from the middle of the lock orifice to the OUTER face of the lock. This one is indeed 30mm as advertised, to the outer face. Also, and this is important, on my old white mechanism, the outer plate was a U section to house the sliding bar. On this one, the outer plate is flat so make sure that this one is a direct replacement for your old one as it would not fit my type of door. As it happens, I'm handy with a hacksaw and drill so I was able to strip the bits of this replacement to repair my old one so all was well in the end, just a bit fiddly. By the way, if you are fitting from new rather than replacing, make sure that you have the correct strike plates as none are supplied. Also, this unit comes with two roller pegs between the middle and outer locks. Although this was not a problem for me, my original lock did not have them. The lock bar is much longer than the height of the door and you will need to cut it to size with a hacksaw at one end. It was delivered taped to a plank of wood about seven feet long which was good as this prevented the lock bar from being bent in transit.
