My 1999 Audi A6 2.8L had been idling high and rough for some time, with bad mileage. It warmed up slowly and then threatened to overheat going "over the hill" and I was worried about the new water pump. Then I started having trouble restarting when hot. It finally threw a code for this part when I was trying to start it so I researched online on my phone from the car. Within 15 minutes, I ordered this part and it arrived in 2 days. The new sensor was easy to find and install, but the first time I tried, I didn't understand the spacer was removable and the sensor fit into the hole too far. Luckily, I knew from other reviews this was possible and I turned the key off as soon as I heard a horrible screech from below my feet. I reinstalled the old one until I looked up the spacer and realized that something I assumed was part of the old sensor needed to be pried off and reinstalled with the new one. Once I installed the new sensor, it idled smoothly at the usual RPMs, got its mojo back for acceleration and hill climbing, and stopped threatening to overheat. Started easily and reliably too. This is super easy to install on models of VW/Audi that share the same drivetrain as my car. (I'm familiar with the VW Passat and Audi A4 & A6 with the 2.8L engine, automatic transmission 5HP19. Could work for other related models too. I'm not a mechanic, just a DIYer on *this* drivetrain.) On the 5HP19 transmission, this sensor is located a few inches from the left axle heat shield, up and to the left about 10 o'clock, attached with an 8mm bolt. You can access it with the car lifted safely and the wheel removed. The connector is up on the front of the firewall near the O2 sensor connectors (I think it's gray). The cable winds through the electrical spaghetti up there so you might not be able to route the new one the same way, but as long as you don't let the new cable rest on the exhaust and melt, you'll be fine.

My 1998 VW Beetle was starting up -- running well for a few minutes and then stopping abruptly and then would not start again without cold. After it would stop running when cranking there would be no spark. Changing this part completely solved my issue. I changed it without removing my oil filter, but scheduling the change with an oil change may be smart just so you hands can get in there more easily. I also needed to get a 5mm hex bit socket to remove the one bolt that secures the unit. I cleaned the area very well with engine cleaner and then parts cleaner before attempting the repair. I used a small ratchet and extension with a swivel handle to get the 5mm end in the bolt. After removing the bolt, it took awhile to get the part to come out as it was very tight in here. I first twisted the old part up and down in it's hole for awhile and then was able to start carefully getting a screwdriver behind it to exert outward pressure -- but was very careful not to do too much of that, as I didn't want to brake the sensor off in the engine. Basically carefully moving it around for 20 minutes was required before it finally came out. Putting it in was easy, and for me, the cable length, connector-type, and routing was exactly as the stock unit. After installing the unit, the car ran as expected. To clear my all my codes, after putting this in, I also had to change my rear O2 sensor, as I think running this part bad can aid fouling the 02. You may not have to change the 02, course; I just saying I did and all codes were resolved after changing both.

It works perfectly with 2004 Audi TT 1.8. It fixed misfire, low milage and performance. I had a local mechanic do the replacement because it's easier on a lift, not expensive.

This is my 2nd sensor ordered from Amz for my 2004 Jetta 2.0 litre engine, even the Amz fit check said this sensor will not fit my Jetta, the system is wrong, fit perfect, took me let than 10 min to get this one and replaced the old one, I attach some picture to showed the 1st sensor I bought skinny and long, that sensor already on the way to return to AMZ, this one shape and size exactly my old one fat and short

Mein Auto sprang wenn warm gefahren schlecht, oder garnicht mehr an so das man in der Regel 30min und länger warten musste. Einmal ging er auch wärend der Fahrt einfach aus, auf ner Einspurigen wegen Baustelle und eingerichteter Bus Spur, und natürlich im Feierabendverkehr, also bester Zeitpunkt dafür :D Die VAG Software brachte den genannten Fehler zum Vorschein, dessen Symptome auch zum Fehlerbild passten. Viele Foren haben hier den KWS-Sensor als Fehlerquelle ausgemacht, also auf Verdacht bestellt und tauschen lassen, Auto läuft wieder normal und Fehler ist verschwunden.

Fit my b5 s4 without issue (there's always an issue). This part performed as expected and was reasonably priced.
