The infix on ultrasonic leak finder works so well I was able to locate two leaks that others hadn’t been able to find. Now the customer thinks we’re super tech’s because we made a lasting repair to their unit.

This is a must have tool,to be used in conjunction with nitrogen under pressure. It will not find a low pressure leak as well as some of the other tools, but in a noisy,dirty environment, it is very well suited to its job.

I'm a senior technician and have several H10 and a couple hand held sniffers. Have found this tool very useful. It locates leaks by way of sound rather than sniffing refrigerant. I can quickly search system under pressure with nitrogen or refrigerant. i can leak search a system that has been flat by adding just nitrogen. i can leak search a system and hear the leak through the armaflex insulation. Havent had an application to find a leak inside a wall cavity but i'm resonable sure it will hear it.. And, it will locate a leak while system is in a vacuum. I found a leak in a hose seal under vacuum. Haven't used it to listen to motor bearings yet but overall very impressed as a leak search tool.

It cant measure the static presence of any gas. It detects fast movement of gas and air. As long as it leaks fast enough to emit a high pitched sound or whistle. Usually need over 50 psi to work. It wont detect anything, including Freon, unless it is moving fast enough to generate sound. To detect Freon you don't need this; By the time this indicates, You can spot smaller leaks by the smoke and vapor escaping with your eyes. Why don't they specify this simple fact in the literature. After reading all reviews I had to purchase it to test it myself. If I didn't find other uses for it I would have returned it.

Bought it in hope of detecting vacuum leak in my carbon infusion parts. So far I could detect the leak with my ear better than this detector.

I am a refrigerantion installer for supermarkets in Florida. All the way till i bought this i never knew anything else but soap water and cutting away my pretty Armaflex to spray my welds. THOSE DAYS ARE GONE. i can hear leaks through armaflex trust me is awesome!!

Picks up background noise more than leaks. Haven't used the touch probe yet. Fails to find low and high pressure leaks. Junk. Unit is bulky which I should have known considering it's use of archaic c cell batteries but somehow didn't think about it.

As a hvac tech , do not recommend this at all. I can never puc up on the sound of leakes. And this thing picks up a lot of sounds from around you !

I have no idea why every HVAC tech doesn't have one of these. I was able to locate leaks in three large commercial condensers in less than 10 minutes using this device and did so under very noisy conditions which had absolutely no effect on using it. Apparently it also works on vacuums which opens up a whole new way of finding leaks whether it is a bad braze, crack or loose hose connection.
