Franklin Sports Youth Dress-Up Shoulder Pads

No, these aren't the world's best quality shoulder pads, but they're also $8. I got these for my two boys, ages 5 and 7, who both were football players for Halloween. They were just perfect for costume shoulder pads. The cheapest pads I had seen anywhere else were $50 each at a sporting goods store, so there was no way I was going to do that. These were exactly what I was looking for. The foam is rather thin, but we were just careful taking them on and off -- and my one son actually got his a bit stuck and pulled pretty hard and it didn't rip. I'm not sure what people expect to get for $8, but for me, I wanted something inexpensive that they could wear once, for Halloween, and if they stayed intact beyond that, then it was a bonus. They are still in perfect shape after being worn three times each for various Halloween events. I would definitely buy these again.

Pulling these shoulder pads out of the package, I must admit to being disappointed. I knew these were just for play, but thought they'd be a little more substantial. However, once we gave them to my son who put them on under a jersey, we were sold. He loved having "Real Football Pads" and I love the fact that they are not more realistic, thus keeping him from using them too much like the real thing. Overall, I would recommend these to someone who has a kid like mine - in love with everything football and wanting to look like a real player. These were a gift for Christmas and he still loves them.

I bought these shoulder pads to complete my son's Halloween costume. They were a lot smaller than I'd pictured, and the pad part on the top doesn't lay as nicely as it does in the picture. My son is 8, but he is small for his age, at 50 lbs, so they did fit, luckily, but he wasn't crazy about them. He only ended up wearing them to one Halloween function, and decided he didn't want to wear them anymore after that, because they weren't very comfortable. Luckily the price is inexpensive, so I don't mind paying what I did for the one time use, I'd just hoped that he'd get more use out of them. So if you are looking for something inexpensive for a child's costume, then this is it. If you are looking for something that they may use longer, like to dress like their favorite player on football Sundays throughout the season, I'd look somewhere else, because I don't think they are comfortable enough or sturdy enough for long time use.

My 3 yo nephew is a HUGE football fan. He LOVES the Cleveland Browns and spends his days playing with his toy football men and watching peewee football games on YouTube. He’s a true Browns fan who gets upset and tells you NO if you are off key when chanting “Here We Go Brownies Here we go Woof Woof”. This year for Christmas I got him a Cleveland Browns uniform complete with shoulder pads and a helmet. The joy in his eyes and voice when he unwrapped the gift and saw Franklin Sports on the box. He shouted to me YOU GOT IT YOU GOT IT. Then he asked where his gloves and football shoes were 🤨. He remained in FULL UNIFORM with pad's all day. The shoulder pads fit perfectly and it was worth every penny.

Franklin and Amazon ought to be ashamed of themselves for making and selling this product. I know the expression "you get what you pay for" but this is even worse than that. Labeling it as "Costume" is far from accurate as it ought to have the word JUNK in parenthesis next to the product name. The photo is the worst false advertising I have seen in a long time! It is literally a flimsy piece of thin, black foam with two little molded plastic cups sewn to the foam, which by the way have ripped entirely off on one side since you have to carefully try and tuck it under a kids t-shirt so it will stay and have some resemblance to football pads. We got this for our youngest son (3 y.o.) for Christmas because he lives and breathes football. He thinks they're real pads, because he is 3, so he loves them! I am the one who is let down that one side has completely ripped apart in just 1 month of use and the other side is close behind. Little kids put their heart into this kind of thing because they believe it is the real deal. My son continues to wear it even though it's ruined. I couldn't take it away from him if I tried. How disappointing that Franklin would produce such a lousy item. Worse of all (and I am a die hard patron) Amazon is stooping pretty low to make a lousy couple bucks trying to sell this piece of garbage!!!

Well the product is absolutely useless for any type of performance-oriented or workout equivalents. I used it for part of a Batman costume and it worked fantastically. The plastic is just that: cheap plastic. Why do you think the price is so inexpensive? Keeping that in mind, they worked great as a costume piece. The tie is cheap with the underlay being inexpensive foam. They are small, but could fit adults. I tore mine apart to use for a costume so that did not really apply to me personally. If you're looking for a costume or prop piece these make an excellent option.

My little 7 yr old grandson loved these fake football pads! This will be his next sport!!

Bought these to go with my 4.5 year olds Halloween costume. They work great and fit him well without being too bulky.

Cheaply made, very small, won’t stay on when child role plays. Extremely disappointed, don’t waste your money.
