It's not a 4790K, so not overclockable.

Is thermal compound included?

It is. It comes with a CPU cooler (heatsink+fan) which has a square of thermal compound pre-applied. I used a third party CPU Cooler though (Hyper 212 Evo) with Arctic Silver 5, though.

Why is an intel processor incompatible with intel motherboards?
