Vornado 783 Full-Size Whole Room Air Circulator Fan with Adjustable Height

I was looking for this brand and model after a US colleague recommended but this is pretty outrageous, in the US it's $129.99 on Amazon. Talk about gouging.

Can’t believe how much of difference this fan made to the cool the air while using my portable AC on a extremely hot day. Totally circulates the air efficiently and now I really don’t need to use another separate AC unit in my bedroom. When on high it’s a little loud but expected. On low and medium can barely hear it. At first I wasn’t sure spending this kind of money on a fan but now I’m telling everyone about it. Everyone should own one whether you have an AC or not. Totally cools the air. Highly recommend!!!

I'm going to sound like a shill, but I'm very firmly in the Vornado camp. This is now my fourth Vornado fan-- not because any of them broke down, but to add to more rooms. Every Vornado fan I have have kept an area far cooler than any other fan I've tried, and the motors haven't broken down like many less expensive products. This one is no exception. On max it feels like you're in a wind tunnel, but not quite as loud. On lower settings, it's practically whisper quiet. The stand isn't my favourite; the base is shaped in a way that makes it awkward to position in a corner, and it isn't quite as high as I was expecting (I imagined it would be close to a lamp stand in height, but it's about half that). This is probably the best you can get without shelling out and making space for an air conditioner. If you live in a tiny apartment like me, this is really the best you can get.

Man, does this thing move some air. While you get a decent breeze standing directly in front of this fan, that is not what it was made for, or where it excels. This fan is designed to move air around the room, which it does an amazing job of. We have this fan set up in front of our portable AC unit. The fan is pointed to the top corner of the room across from the AC, which allows the cool air to move across the room and bounce off the other wall. This model did not have a remote control, but there is no need, as we only use one setting, which is enough to keep us cool. The fan has a nice, sleek look and takes up hardly any space. At first, we were concerned about the fan's stability, as we have several animals in the home. But we have bumped into this fan multiple times without the slightest sign of overturning.
