These are very sharp edged cutters. I don’t know if the steel is hard enough for steel wires. They work good on copper wire. I find them preferable as toenail clippers over purpose made clippers.

I haven't found the perfect flush cut micro cutter. They all have their flaws, but some are quite serious. The most serious flaw is using unhardened (or just not hard enough) cutting jaws. If you plan to cut only fine soft copper wire, hands down the best cutter based primarily on feel and human factors is Hakko CHP-170. I fell in love with these cutters in the first hour of use, but after a few days of cutting Arduino (genuine) headers as well as various typical electronic breadboard wires, the Hakko jaws were dented and useless. After a week, they are garbage. The KATA 4.5" micro cutter has similar, but less impressive feel in your hand and smooth operation, but is inferior to Hakko CHP-170 and has similarly soft cutting jaws. IGAN-330 is the best cutter available, but lots of room for improvement. So far their jaws are holding up, but the design creates a nasty pinch point for your thumb, when cutting. I've learned to get around it, but it can be nasty. They are smooth operating and cut clean and close. Of these three, IGAN is the hands-down winner until you get a nasty blood-blister from a painful pinch. I'm waiting for Hakko cutters with hardened jaws. Hopefully someday.

I bought these for trimming small wires and plastic sprues, and they’ve been great so far. The blades are super sharp and give a clean, flush cut without crushing or bending the material. I’ve used them on electronics, zip ties, and even some 3D printed parts—no issues. They’re lightweight but don’t feel flimsy, and the grip is comfortable enough for longer sessions. Just a heads-up: they’re not meant for thick or hard wires, so I keep them strictly for precision work. For the price, these cutters punch way above their weight. Definitely a solid pick for hobbyists or anyone doing light electrical work.

If you're here for affordable side cutters / nippers for GUNPLA or other plastic minis... you're in the right place and can ignore the negative reviews. As of 4/12/25 almost every negative review is from somebody that didn't understand the use cases for this product and misused it. I won't exaggerate and call these fantastic, They don't cut as cleanly as a nicer set and can discolor the plastic, but they still work well enough to get the job done. *For those that don't know what GUNPLA/ or minis are; you're likely looking at the wrong product for your needs and should probably move on and continue shopping elsewhere. These are intended for plastic sprues and very thin and soft wire only. THEY WILL BREAK if used on any other materials.

These are the most precise cutters I've ever used. When brand new and one is using these cutters for similar materials, this will cut a laser sharp line through paper, thin foils, solid core wire and its insulation. You can hear the cut being made through paper. These are the best cutters for wire and harness assembly that I've found as the cuts are super clean. They are specialty cutters, and they do dull eventually, that rate depends on the materials cut and one's technique. When dull, I replace with a new pair of the same cutters and have done so for years.

Schneiden ganz okay, aber die produktions qualität ist kaum besser als die 1.50€ china knips. Meine haben in einer schreibtisch schublade nach 3 tagen angefangen zu rosten und sind außen recht scharfkantig. sowas darf

These were a chance buy as they are cheap. It turns out that they are pretty good as a replacement of the supplied side cutters with my ender 3 pro. The only reason for 4 stars is because the number of times I've caught my index finger in the area at the top of the handles as they are just a little small. They've got good cutting power for their size and recommended.

These cutters are fantastic, The blades are super sharp and come together really well. I use them to cut through a number of sizes of nylon cord and they do a fantastic job, completely slicing through leaving a straight cut with no fraying ends and doing a better job than expensive scissors.. The spring is an excellent feature which I have found a timesaver and convenience having used some for many years. I will be buying more of these and recommend them.
